    No idea on that...
  2. 2017-18 Season

I asked around and the entire MAAC offers cola. It may seem like a trivial thing but a kid has two schools on his list...one is going to give him 2k or 3k in spending cash and the other won't...who do you think he'll go with?
  3. 2017-18 Season

You are absolutely correct...based on my understanding student athletes from high profile sports such as basketball and football especially were closely monitored. Case in point, I believe years ago Oklahoma (St?) football players were "working" for a dealership, it turns it it was a front to simply funnel money to the kids who never even showed up. So you are correct.

True...nothing prevents other conferences from offering it as well. The decisions are conference based and then school based. Conference decides to approve a COLA and then each individual school can chose how much to offer students. My understanding that it is subject to Title IX but no across the athletic department. If UA chose to give out stipends to the men's basketball program, they would need to do the same for woman's program. http://www.kansascity.com/sports/college/article86062792.html

Cost of living adjustment or stipend. Basically means over the course of a season 2k in cash to cash strapped college students who don't hold jobs as basketball takes up so much time with travel and practice.
  6. 2017-18 Season

Are there any available numbers regarding donations? Is gdac participating growing at all?
  7. 2017-18 Season

Nailed it! Why is Benson sitting on naming rights? And cola is $2kx26 students... Men and woman. That amounts to a bit over 50k. Take a stupid money game and offer cola. Drop stupid useless oneonta.
  8. 2017-18 Season

What is badly needed is a sefcu renovation, cola and other ancillary funding like summer school sessions... The first two are obviously a huge deal. Ua is one of only two schools not offering cola. Everyone else does and I belive a significant issue on the recruit trail. This must be addressed... Cancel stupid oneonta and take an additional money game. That alone would pay for woman and men cola.
  9. New Word Mark and Team store

Two t-shirts and a hat... Taddaaaaaa! Litterally WANT to buy gear and give them money. They won't take it!
  10. 2017-18 Season

Albany has the second highest men's basketball budget in the ae... Carry on.
  11. New Word Mark and Team store

Man, I don't mind it but I'm disappointed in the borderline ZERO selection of items...
  12. 2017-18 Season

    Pure wishful thinking...;)
  13. 2017-18 Season

I watched a lot as well...the thing that stuck out to me is a need for an effective athletic wing that can release pressure on guards either via a long range shot or slash and a big that has some length to bother drivers to the basket. I'm hopeful DeSousa or Mack can be that wing.
  14. 2017-18 Season

All fair questions...you hit on some painful ones for me. Many of us, including me are quick to 'give it' to Nichols...but you can't ignore the year Devonte had. Game in and game out it was 4 on 5 on offense. As a fan, my opinion is that he can't be a starter next year unless he can hit an open shot. His defense is good but not that good.

I can't believe this fire Brown talk...What has happened to this board? I say this as the guy who questioned OPENLY if he still had it in him after the first two trips and then subsequent struggles etc. But today to ask that question? I mean..WHAT???? Yeah, Brown as does the ENTIRE team need to figure out what happened this year and make sure this same issue doesn't roll into next year. This was an average season with some really head scratching games and performances. Depth needs to improve significantly and people need to be held accountable with benching etc. That introspection obviously starts with Brown as the architect of the team.
