  1. This seems to be the new trend--ask but don't enforce. I find it's better than nothing, and at least encourages folks to think twice rather than appearing to be impartial. In NYC, people are still wearing masks in most places, signs or not.
  2. Ok yeah, those "tents' actually look way better than imagined. And 4x the old bubble is a good size, although yeah, find the extra 20 yards! I like the all-purple SEFCU seat renovation. Anyone know if the capacity will change at all?
  3. According to rumor, it was last used at a circus outside Cleveland in 1998.
  4. Didn't say that. Said it's not true that reputation is irrelevant at some jobs. You don't even get glance from a place like McKinsey if you didn't goto the right school.
  5. It would be nice if this were universally true, but some places or professions absolutely weigh pedigree among their major hiring decisions.
  6. When you say the decline was intentional... what was the goal, and why?
  7. SUNY Poly's future in limbo with Hochul's SUNY plan https://www.timesunion.com/business/article/SUNY-Poly-s-future-in-limbo-with-Hochul-s-SUNY-16754589.php
  8. Back in the day they used to say there were 4 flagships, which included Albany and Bing.
  9. On a lighter note, if we go down to only 4 eligible players, I would like to announce my willingness to help out the team. BestDane and I used to light up the 3's at that park across the street from Paesans.
  10. I work at a university and can say that phone calls often get noticed more than emails. Might be worth calling the President's office after New Years to voice concern...and same for the Alumni Development Office.
  11. True, but that was waaay back in November, before we got Power 5 conference good. đŸ™‚
  12. Airtight 2021 season logic: Albany beat Boston College. Boston College beat Notre Dame. Notre Dame beat #10 Kentucky. Albany > Kentucky.
  13. Why the university failed to enforce its own policy is the issue—but that policy is one on which some high-risk people might've based their decision to attend. I hope that will change.
  14. with 3 national championship wins in the past 8 years, i think the ACC is close to top tier for football as well.
  15. We're at #172 now, down from 160 last year. I say it every year but it's a shame the school can't figure out a way to reverse this trajectory. Big drop from even 10 years ago, let alone from the 1990s, when we competed with Binghamton for best SUNY. They're #83 now; SBU and Buffalo are tied at #93. This doesn't help us in sports either, especially in lacrosse where we compete with Virginia, Yale, and Hopkins for recruits.
  16. As someone who attended when UA was Division 3--and did some radio color commentary for games--it never fails to amaze me to see a school like Kentucky on our schedule.
  17. Yes, my question was why it might appeal to him to take the reins at a small D3 school after decades in D1. Rick Pitino was somewhat untouchable after his scandal, and yet Iona is still D1. I was asking to see if anyone on the board has insider knowledge.
  18. Unfortunately, this sounds right to me. And considering the professional leagues pay so low, it'll be harder and harder to imagine that top recruits would choose to have Albany on their resume over Virginia, Georgetown, UNC, etc.
  19. Just downloaded onto an iPhone and must say it looks great and the UX is solid. But they need to improve their success rate.
  20. wonder why it was so back and forth though. He went from a top tier program like Texas A&M to Cornell, and then again from Georgia to Canisus...but maybe that's common if the coach you play under gets let go?
