  1. Sometimes the act of acknowledgement is important, Marcus Filien received that acknowledgement during the season. Perhaps, an athletic scholarship from UAlbany meant little however, the change of scenery and opportunity meant more. If there was a transfer portal for fans, I probably give strong consideration.
  2. At a time that I am at a crossroads with my sports relationship with UAlbany, both in game attendance and financial support, I cannot imagine what could be worthy of keeping under wraps. So, forgive me for a healthy dose of skepticism about this potential bombshell announcement, which make this area truly Great Dane Nation.
  3. LOL, why would he enter the transfer portal as his came to UAlbany under an Empire Scholarship. Further, he was deemed a walk-on, which did not change in his sophomore year, something that Killing never addressed and which I strongly believe meant something to Marcus.
  4. As I pointed in a recent posting, we gotten the best of Siena teams this season and Siena's seemingly singular focus of their sports program. Can you blame Marcus for leaving UAlbany for the athletic scholarship that never came his way at UAlbany. I bet some N-I-L money will come his way too. Yes, Marcus will now have to prove himself or he will likely be looking for a new team a year from now, but Coach McNamara must have saw something in him.
  5. After three years, all we have seen from Dwayne Killings is three losing seasons, players coming and going with one of our players leaving for Siena (a few people are chuckling at Siena this evening) and no immediate hopes or prospects of being a top 4 America East team. We will have a team of one-year wonders in 2024-2025, like in wondering why they came to UAlbany.
  6. During the Thompson years, as I recall from reports, the Drexal players committed similar actions. However, we continue to play the Drexal Dragons.
  7. Haudenosaunee Nationals have posted a statement about the incident via a posting on their Instagram account.
  8. The game announcer acknowledged the UAlbany contingent and their ability to make themselves heard. Shout out to the moms, dads and families of UAlbany MLAX.
  9. Huge skirmish at end of the game last year .... involved University Police, refs, coaches and I believe Vic got involved. So no surprise to me yesterday,
  10. No, more like he did not want to be last person leaving Broadview Center and responsible for turning off the lights. Perhaps some good friends, more likely for family.
  11. Where is the thread for today's game? LOL, place is falling apart. Time to raise some money for a full-time thread starter.
  12. The above action plan is a great; however, did you flip the coin to see what was on the other side or think about how this would affect other programs in place to raise money just to support day to day operations? This seems to be our operating mode. I have stated in the past the names of potential people to lead campaigns however, I am of the opinion there is no one who will put their face to a NIL campaign under our current circumstances, in particular with MBB. The only way is to bring in MBB, WBB and/or Football coach who is attached with a big money donor or aka the $iena way.
  13. This is a situation where we will have to agree to disagree. We do not know the circumstances; I was left wondering did Killings and his staff have the skill sets necessary on how to handle Jonathan's issues or needs. Further, did the Luke Fizulich incident, make Killings more ineffective in dealing with individual player situations and relucent in communicating to the fan base on these issues. In the end Jonathan Beagle has successfully exited the Transfer Portal to a basketball program with a head coach, who has compiled 19 years of head coaching experience at the same institution. (Sound familiar) I am certain this head coach has seen it and heard it all and carefully weighed the benefits of signing up Jonathan Beagle. LOL in two years Jonathan Beagle has gone from savior of our program to whatever phase you want to attach to him.
  14. Sitting one row behind you in Broadview Center home, how can the things we picked up on during those first few conference games at the Broadview Center be so far apart. Again, none of us know the complete story, however, your rant on Beagle is shameful and in extremely poor taste. If Beagle needed time away to get a fresh perspective of basketball, clear his head, I respect him for making a tough decision which he knew could cause issues in basketball career. From three years of Killings, I do not expect any type of statement saying that I could have done a better job handling the Beagle situation and keeping all of the current team here vs, entering the portal. I will never monsteras his actions as you did. To Jonathan, thank you for your time here...wishing you the best at Richmond.
  15. I think despite leaving the team, in the manner that he did, was a calculated risk. I am of the opinion, the risk paid off as Beagle ended up at a school with a rich basketball tradition, a winning record (23-10), a conference championship game participant and the NIT Tournament. These are things he would never enjoy at UAlbany. Further their head coach is a respected member of the basketball community. He is in such a better place, all the other UAlbany players in the transfer portal can only hope for such a sweet landing. Lastly, I am certain Jonathan freely discussed the situation with Coach Mooney and bought video game evidence to back his decision.
  16. Why UAlbany continues with Baseball is beyond me. I respect Mueller for putting up with little resources; however, something has to change.
  17. ASP has a story on Beagle's transfer to Richmond, likewise, only wishing him the best. Jonathan has decided to put the Capital District in the rear-view mirror. My gut tells me the same thing about the 2024-2025 season. Killings was lucky last season, however, sometimes luck runs out. As for season ticketholder, there will be fewer, including myself, as Killings and Mark/Vic have turned me off completely.
  18. Updated forecast: rain gear suggested: This Afternoon: Scattered showers, mainly after 5pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 48. North wind around 16 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. Tonight: Scattered rain showers, possibly mixing with snow after 11pm, then gradually ending. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 34. North wind 9 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
  19. Well, a perfect forecast for being outside watching UAlbany teams: Today: Scattered showers, mainly after 5pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 46. North wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. Tonight: Scattered showers, mainly before 7pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 32. North wind 10 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
  20. John D'Argenio was not looking for someone that might draw comparisons and might demand a more equitable situation for the women's program. Can you image John giving any consideration to someone that had demanded a fairer and more equitable scheduling agreement? When Siena and their fans talks about their basketball tradition, their talking about their MBB program (for the most part.) Hopefully, Will is looking elsewhere as the local options have dried up.
