Damnit...rough bball year.

Seriously. I figured at least the ladies would get to the final. Rough.

Per the 'Live Stats' feature on UAlbanySports.com...the ladies last bucket came with 5:12 left in the 4th? Wow.

I am not a season ticket holder for the women, but do attend many of their games. If you ever seen this girl play , you would be even more impressed with these comments. This girl is a flat out competitor. She has one speed. She takes the ball up court EVERY single time, whether UA is behind or ahead by 1 or 20, as if there is 4 seconds left in the game.

Love to watch her PLAY and love her ATTITUDE!

Maine won the automatic NCAA bid. Team with the next best conference record gets the automatic. WNIT bid.. That team is Ualbany

A team that is offered an automatic berth by the WNIT shall be the team that is a.) the highest-finishing team in its conference’s regular-season standings, and b.) is then not selected for the NCAA Tournament. It does not matter what the team’s overall record is. For the automatic qualifying berth, the WNIT believes that a team’s conference record is a more fair comparison among teams within their own conference, and that the conference record should pre-empt overall records among teams from the same conference. The automatic qualifying team is rewarded with the AQ spot for its in-conference play.

I read that passage to mean that if Maine did not receive an NCAA bid..then they would get a WNIT auto-bid because they were the highest-finishing team in the conference. (Same way the men's side works.) So..I don't believe we're getting an auto-bid to the WNIT. We'd still need to be an at-large selection.
