  2. How is the effort going on this? Roger Wyland speculated that likely the NIL money helped Marcus Jackson make his decision easier. All this talk about a big announcement has me wondering if the concerns a major donation towards a NIL fund.
  3. Nothing to prove here, just a reflection on the reality of the length of your list...lol
  4. Literally every school is going through this transfer nonsense so I don’t know what you’re trying to prove trying to take shots at all the transfers. Agree that DK hasn’t shown he can coach and he’s running out of time to prove it, but I’m confident he will bring in all conference caliber players as he’s done every year.
  5. Jack Margoupis to Southern Connecticut State NE10.

  7. Green grass please, I hope they don't go crazy trying to be Boise or EWSU. As for the rumor of a big donation. The president did mention that the university did get the largest donation in university history. I tried to google search and figure out who and what for but couldn't find anything. https://www.albany.edu/president/university-address-spring-2024
  8. Agree wholeheartedly for the first year or even two, but the acknowledgement goes beyond basketball. Most players aren't going to play professionally (not a comment on Jackson or Fillien) and are going to enter the business world at some point. Being a scholarship player on a D1 team is a big resume thing, and being a walk-on that earned a scholarship is an even bigger resume thing.
  9. Was Marcus Fillien on a free ride regardless? Youre playing D1 basketball and you are going for free..not "officially" giving the scholarship helps your team bring in another out-of-state player. Thats a no brainer to me.
  10. Sometimes the act of acknowledgement is important, Marcus Filien received that acknowledgement during the season. Perhaps, an athletic scholarship from UAlbany meant little however, the change of scenery and opportunity meant more. If there was a transfer portal for fans, I probably give strong consideration.
  11. Eastern Washington is probably the boldest..and the hardest to see on TV
  12. Purple field, hmmm. That would rank up there with Boise St and Coastal Carolina for boldest fields in the country.
  13. I've been in agreement with you for a long time. Nice role player, solid hustle, good depth. Nothing against him, always was a good teammate.
  14. If he had an Empire Scholarship isn't that just budget management? The kid goes for free, so why not spend the money on outside of NY players.
  15. Did you mean Yog-Yurt and have it shaped like a cloth hut? Also, excited to see how the turf looks with the new logos etc. It looked weird playing on turf with the old branding What if they do a purplle field with gold endzones..
  16. You guys like him more than I do. I thought is defense was good. Not great. Fouled a ton. Offensively, he can't create his own shot . Not a great shooter. He hustles. Which is great. To me and I understand its my opinion but he is a 10 minute player on a D1 team.
  17. After the year that he had, starting 18 games, over 22 mpg, great shooting percentage, hustling on D….if he wasn’t offered a scholarship it’s one more thing that reflects very badly on DK imho.
