Tuned in long enough to see them go from down 13-9 to 15-9. Speed and talent…no match at the moment. -

I was in Albany last weekend. On my way back to dutchess county I passed campus on Washington Ave, and saw a large purple fence outside of colonial quad. Does anyone know what they are doing?

UA women have another transfer from within the AE. Laycee Drake, a 5’6” Jr. guard from UMBC. Missed last year with an injury. 2022-23 numbers: 7.9 ppg., 4.3 rpg, while starting all 29 games. From Hancock, N.Y.

There will be so many kids without a degree, it's not even funny. Honestly, it is not college sports anymore. The amount of students who benefit from this massive 4 year upheaval is minute. The ones that suffer, long term, is a rather large group.

ps. Ncaa passed today making it official no waiting for multi year transfers, as long as they are academically eligible 😪😪

Under what conditions is a NIL considered a CHARITY??? Again I refer to the experts; but sounds like an oxymoron and boarding on illegal to call raising money to pay a student athlete who now becomes a professional, a “CHARITY.”??? What the Fu+$?

I know that Iowa’s NIL is a 501c3 so I imagine a lot are.

As is the case with any charitable gift. Are any collectives qualified? -
Payments to a NIL Collective are not tax deductible unless the collective has 501(c)(3) status.

I knew the money was taxable to the kids, my question is if a NIL collective fund, like a school endowment, would be tax deductible for the donations made to it. I guess probably not, as it wasn't a non-profit venture, but I'm willing to guess that it could be a non-profit venture supporting paying players for their appearance at charity events or something like that. There are always loopholes. The income to the students is always going to be taxable. -
Money is likely to move the needle for both, that's about it.
-
It is taxable: Generally, any money, goods, property, or services received from NIL activities are all considered forms of taxable income. Student-athletes should be mindful that NIL agreement income (including non-cash benefits or compensation) is reportable and is considered taxable income.

Do we have a license agreement that we can only sell certain beers during a game? It would be awesome to have 20% of a craft beer going to NIL?
-
One thing I’ve noticed living in a Big Ten town now is a lot of the NIL collectives have a partnership with local breweries to sell a school themed beer. Something like 20% of the revenue goes to the NIL collective. Would it be viable to do something like that in Albany? There’s plenty of breweries around.
