  1. Today
  2. Kacper Klaczek is a good get from the highlights I saw. 6"8" and looked strong defensively, at least in the highlights. Should fit well. It looks like a great start to rebuilding. Killings has been great at recruiting talent. Figuring out how to put it together on the floor has been the challenge. As someone else said, this is pretty much make/break for him. I see 8 Scholarships used (9 if Filien returns. Verbal Commits has him as a Sr., but I thought someone mentioned that he had a year left). So that is 5 (or 4) spots to fill, unless I missed someone else that is returning. 2024-25 1/2 Adnan (So, 6'2") Linsey (Fr, 5'10") 2/3 Langford (Sr, 6'5", BC/UCF) Matulu (Fr, 6'4", Walk-On) 3/4 Reddish (Sr, 6'7") Neely (Jr, 6'5") 4/5 Klaczek (Sr, 6'8", StJoes) Adewale (So, 6'8", Iona) Taylor (Fr, 6'7") Walker (So, 6'7", Walk-On) 5 Its a solid start considering there is still almost 40% of the roster to fill. Probably need a true PG, another 2/3, and another big 4/5 type player and the team could compete. A true 5 is hard to find in the AE, and while I'd love one, I am not sure it is needed to win the AE if you have some plus defensive PF's. Didn't get to see much of Adnan last year, not sure how much playing time he is ready for, but he did show some ability. Would love it if they were able to convince Jackson, Marshall, and/or Margoupis to return.
  3. MAAC Golf Championship results Since the Crosstown Challenge rematch was cancelled, Albany completes the entire academic year undefeated over the Loudonville school
  4. Yesterday
  5. Didn’t see it anywhere else…very quietly won MAAC Title today! Congrats ladies.
  6. Kacper Klaczek from Saint Joseph's committed as well. Killings has proven he can't coach but he is now doing what I thought he should be doing all along. 22-23 year old kids. Get old and stay old. I like the drop downs that have had some success in higher conferences. I like the additions so far. This is his true make or break year.
  7. Could be big news coming re: Bubble or something else....??
  8. Dontae Lunan @upnowdon, from Miami, Florida, Bryant transfer, Hybrid LB, May Grad 5' 11" 220 lbs, 2 years left https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYxIYsDkbwg Apr 20 Blessed to receive an offer UAlbany! 💜💛
  9. Per the Facilities Spring 2024 project update presentation today, the turf in Casy Stadium and Dutch Quad rec field will be replaced this summer.
  10. The game announcer acknowledged the UAlbany contingent and their ability to make themselves heard. Shout out to the moms, dads and families of UAlbany MLAX.
  11. 3 years at BC with decent numbers...tough go at UCF with big drop off.
  12. A UA player got laid out on an illegal check about three minutes in. I thought that set the tone. UA absolutely scorched Merrimack on face offs and ground balls. Lots of extra opportunities.
  13. I agree. I think they go into MAAC next year. Very poor decision by America East leadership to take them in for these 2 years. Interesting aspect yesterday was that audio (outside of the announcer) was clearly from the UAlbany section.
  14. Huge skirmish at end of the game last year .... involved University Police, refs, coaches and I believe Vic got involved. So no surprise to me yesterday,
  15. Had at least 3 skirmishes. Each time UA got the worse of the penalties assessed, even though it seemed incidents were started by mack [hard to tell because off camera mostly.] Same thing happened last year @ UA and as I recall fight broke out after final whistle. Merrimack two time DII champion before upgrade to DI, seem to be trying to bull their way into next level. I think next year they go back to NorthEast Conference. Good riddance; but would not mind seeing them knock off Bryant next week.
  16. Last week
  17. I watched a good bit of the game. Real chippy. Slow start but hot through 2 and 3. Good win.
  18. No, more like he did not want to be last person leaving Broadview Center and responsible for turning off the lights. Perhaps some good friends, more likely for family.
  19. Where is the thread for today's game? LOL, place is falling apart. Time to raise some money for a full-time thread starter.
  20. Kinda odd. It's like going back to a cheating girlfriend. They did not think he was good enough to play the first 2 years. Then goes back with a ton of other options ? Probably has some good friends there or something. On another note from Twitter: 6'9 forward Angelo Winkel out of Des Moines Area Junior College tells me that he just visited UAlbany. Winkel will be visiting Northern Arizona on Monday & South Dakota on Wednesday. Winkel also visited Portland State last weekend. 16.9 PPG 7.1 RPG First Team All-American Looks like he wants to take a ton of visits and decide. Seems like a good player.
  21. Merrimack is a huge game . Great danes win would be sole possession of first. A Merrimack win would be a messy 6 way tie at 4-2
  22. Hope the credits transfer might see him at the Ryan Center this winter.
  23. Thomas back to Rhode Island...ge's gone gone!
  24. Myles (has a really fast pass release) and Trey (very loose) are both looking good. There is a walk on too, don't have the name yet. Freshman can really throw the ball! BTW Reece was visiting the last couple of days. #2 from what I hear!! UA had 4 on official visits at practice yesterday, 2 DB, LB and Punter.
  25. Excellent news. Those I spoke to about him at the HS level said he's special, he just needed to put on some weight and deal with the speed of the game (both not unexpected at this level). Way I see it, I would suppose it's a two way battle between Myles and Trey...with Van getting third team reps, and next year a battle for number 2 (presuming Myles doesn't beat out Trey, tear it up, and move on to an FBS school). BTW, really good friends with folks in the UM program, high level close-up to the program. He's had a vanilla, but good camp. He had a mixed performance in the spring game, hitting an absolutely beautiful long ball and missing on a wide open receiver. Jacurri Brown transferred, meaning he is solidly in the group of three, with Ward as the starter and Poff/Williams vying for #2. So many 3 and 4 star recruits are transferring at key positions (like Brown). As much as we are a feeder program now, if we EMBRACE IT, Albany could have consistently wonderful years as kids will either want to start here and shine or drop down, shine, and move on. For all of our initial worries about the staff, and they were valid in many respects and irrational in other ways, this staff (starting with Gattuso) is excellent at recognizing raw talent and molding them. I think we finally settled on an offensive scheme that works, which is great. Personally, as much as i can't stand what has happened to college sports and it is ultimately driving out really good people before there time is up (Saban, eventually Gattuso, etc.), we are positioned to handle it well...and I think Coaching staff consistency is a HUGE key as it is the ultimate selling point at our level as kids ask, "Can you get me to my next spot, my dream...a NIL package or a shot at P2 school".
