This is as true a homecoming as there ever has been.

The Danes are the LAST team in the country to play their 1st home game of the year!

I wish we were 3-1 but 2-2 is respectable.

Last year we hit 6300 for attendance. This year the weather is supposed to be perfect (sunny and hih 60s). Can we hit 7000?!?! Tell your friend, work buddies, etc. Bring everyone!

PS we better not sleep on STFA. They're better then their record indicates.

I hate seeing that Stadium thread on the front page.

Looking forward to a home game! Looking back at the last fouor games our special teams and defense (most of the time ) have saved our buts.I'm not very happy with coach McCarty's play calling and personnel choices . How would you guys grade 1)defense 2) offense 3) speial teams

Heres mine.

Defense B-

Offense D

I think they've got to start running some sweeps or outside tosses to spread out the D-line, both to open up the middle for the run and spread the secondary to get some passing lanes. The only end runs we've done have been out of the wildcat.

Ditto on the outside run game we need more of it. The passing lanes are there we just aren't getting the ball to the recievers . there was alot of wide open guys againt Yale . We have alot of playmakers on this team and they are not being used effectivly in my opinion. We also need to start converting on third down! that i believe is on the coaches. averaging 14 points a game (way less if it wasn't for special teams) will not get us a conference title period. The offense needs to pick up speed now.Improve what we have now or make changes as Danefane said on another forum I hope we get a good early lead so we can get a chance to see what Leathley can do , I have a feeling just watching what iv'e seen he may be a playmaker but we really don't know.

Anybody have any idea what the "UAlbany Football Tailgate" is at 11am in the RACC lot?

http://www.ualbanysports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=15800&ATCLID=205007888

I think there's a band, don't remember where I read it.

Also for alumni, from the alumni page

11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Touchdown Tailgate

Tailgate tent area on back lawn of Science Library

Get into the spirit, enjoy food, fellowship and fun with other Great Danes fans under the big top. Receive free food, drink vouchers and a free T-shirt if you preregister - alums only. For non-alumni, food and drink vouchers can be purchased at the tailgate tent. Free parking in the Dutch Quad lot; $5.00 in the SEFCU lot. Registration required. Reunion classes, Middle Earth, Presidential Honor Society (PHS) and GOLD will have reserved tables at the tailgate tent.

Surprised they have essentially 2 tailgates going on. Hopefully that means they are expecting a very large turnout and didn't think they could fit the Touchdown Tailgate and band set up in the same lot.

Also new this year are shuttle buses from Dutch lot. At least I think its new. I've never actually had to park in Dutch.

Two things:

1. Interesting that we all see the SAME EXACT THING, people who are fans, familiar with football schemes, and the like. If we see it, imagine what D-Coordinators must be seeing.

2. Danefan-- you able to check your e-mail tomorrow or Saturday; I have to do some research but I want to shoot you an e-mail to see if you can pass the info along to some people when you are up there this weekend. Sadly, I am stuck on that case I e-mailed you about. GRRRRR....life was supposed to be better as in-house counsel. :)
