And let me say... Irelan....22 out of 24 and 13 ground balls and a goal .... I hope he stays healthy because he is already a beast as a Freshman. The ESPN3 announcers (who I really like btw) were saying they'd have to start rooting for the UH FO guy because they were getting beat up so much.

Just not enough quality teams to face in the America east as it is in the big10/acc

With the strength in the ACC and Big 10, Coach Marr is going to have to rethink some of the traditional OCC opponents. Have to hope that Yale wins the ILT and somehow UMass can pull an upset in the CAA, and with Carolina's AND Rutgers wins more than ever, the Danes have to win the AQ.

If we lose the AQ it is no sure bet of getting an at large bid with no top 5 or top 10 wins.

The fact that Albany continues to breeze through the AE probably hurts them in the eyes of the committee, and the rest of the conference has to up their games. Great what Bing has done, and Moran has done a great job this year at UMBC. Feifs got off to a hot start, and despite not having Mackay this season UVM should have had a better season but they really fell apart.

Still second in the Massey ratings, fifth (two points behind Notre Dame) in the Inside Lacrosse poll, tied for sixth (with Duke) in the USILA Coaches' poll, and eighth in RPI.

Don't know if the committee will have another preliminary ranking before selection next Sunday

Decided to look back at the boxscore of the Hartford game in last years AE tourney to see how on earth we lost that game. All it took was one stat. We were 4 for 24 in faceoffs. Reh, Ornstein, and Russell all tried. Anyone think TD can improve that number? I sure do.

Just putting this out here as a heads up -- I am going to be running a NCAA Lacrosse Bracket Pool - Tentatively, the cost will be $20 per entry and prizes will be announced after I get a total number of participants. I have run one each of the last 2 years and there usually is a good amount of participation. Feel free to invite others. I will post more in the coming weeks but feel free to contact me with any questions.

No - but consider Liam as good as gone. Mark it down. Michigan is a GREAT job and unless one of the current head coaches at a top 15 program decide it is a better opportunity ALA Tambroni w/ PSU, I think Liam is the next HC. All he has done is take a UA defense from being one of the worst in the country year in and year out and turn it into one of the best.....ALL while having to play defense against his own offense. When you play at the pace SUNY does, you expect a very mediocre D

I think Liam is going to get his shot, and soon, but if I were a betting man I think Michigan goes with an established head coach given the huge investment they have made in men's and women's lacrosse. I think they go after someone like a Joe Alberici from Army, Cassesse from Lehigh, Chemotti from Richmond, or Polley from BU.

I bet Liam is on the list at Delaware and St. Bonnaventure.

No inside info, but with his daughter at UA, and Kyle in the Big 10. I say no on Marr leaving, but you have to think he would be on Michigan's wish list. I don't have a clue what the salary bump would be, can't hop on the train and catch a Ranger game from Ann Arbor!

Based on what I can find publicly, it looks like the Michigan MLax salary is in the ballpark of what SM makes, but who knows what they would offer in terms of total compensation for someone of his talent.

Game day TU+ story UAlbany lax built off bitter loss

"At the end of (last season), we got complacent, and we got a little too full of ourselves. And we paid the price," Marr said. "I think we learned from that. This year, we've focused only on the opponent at hand and aren't looking any further than Thursday night."

The Great Danes also expect to have back freshman attack Jakob Patterson (23 goals), an All-Rookie selection

"I think we're right on the bubble as far as a hosting a game, (and) being in the tournament," Marr said. "I think we've built a good resume. ... We're just focusing on winning Thursday night.

Shouldn't be any rain tonight, temps falling thru the 50s

Fields gets Offensive POY, Ierlan ROY. Six first-teamers (Fields, T Reh, McClancy, Osika, Sims, Ierlan}, four second-teamers (Drake, J Reh, Dluhy, Colarusso), Three on All-Rookie (Ierlan, Laffin, Patterson). Kluck, McClancy and J Reh on All-Academic.
