Well, it looks like we will have a true open competition in the Spring. I have to think it's coming down to Shanley, Sweeney, and...

 

...Will Brunson?!?!

 

Looks like Will is signing at 2pm tomorrow, and is enrolling early so he can play Spring Ball. Quite the power play. I didn't realize he's a coach's kid. Read half-way down the article. He flat out is coming in for the job...but Shanley is quite the talent.

Have any recent highlight videos on the kid?

Nada. There is a game film from this year. His Hudl film is private. But the team preview for this year that I saw, plus that one game film...kid seems like he can play.

This article has some info on his recruiting process. Looks like he hurt his thumb the summer before his big year for evaluation, and couldn't throw. Schools like Middle Tennessee, Clemson, and South Carolina backed off. I do know Duke was on him for quite awhile.

Wow. Those are some impressive schools that were looking at that kid.

In the last coaches corner video with Zach Bye, Gattuso talks about QB's for next year. Mentions Sweeney and Harding, says that Ryan Smith hasn't decided if he wants to return and mentions Shanley almost as an afterthought. Also said that they will have some new kids and they already have some activities in the Spring to see who will lead the team.

 

Will be interesting.
