Lunardi's ESPN brackets now have Albany a 16 seed, vs. Memphis in Dallas. Other 16 seeds are Fairleigh D-ickinson, Southern U, and Lipscomb - but he has Southern and Lipscomb in the same region and also for the play-in game, so maybe he doesn't care about 16 seeds. Edited by UAalum72

I'm hoping that all the last seeded teams win their conference titles (except the America East where I would like a certain team from upstate New York to win). I think that only if there are a bunch of sub .500 teams will Lunardi modify his slightly pessimistic projection.

Win the AE tourney....

Call me crazy, but I'd rather be in the play-in game because we would get another chance to play on ESPN. Unfortunately our record is too good to be in the play-in game.

I think that when the dust settles we will end up as a 15 seed. Lunardi's Bracket is based on the assumption that all the favorites to win the conference tourney actually do. Due to the fact that some no name schools will end up upsetting a normal 1 team conference the would probably end up below us. I think our strong performances against FLA, UCLA and VCU (all on the road) probably help us to get higher then the upset from one of the many conferences out there.

How many times have you filled out a bracket and laughed at the likes of the Davidsons and the Woffords that got the 16 seeds, or worse, the play-in game?

A 15 gets you noticed, without the stigma.

Also, many people say they would rather lose as a 16 in the NCAAs then win the NIT. I think for an emerging program a prolonged NIT run would be better than a quick exit from the NCAAs. Of course, the NIT is never the goal, especially with three seniors. But wouldn't an NIT run be fun? ...Thoughts?

You can make a case for a 15-seed, though I'm afraid that the 2nd UNH loss all but locked us up as a 16-seed, provided we got that far. Any other AE team would certainly be a 16.

From a fan's perspective, imagine if the unthinkable occurred where we lost to Binghamton on our homecourt in the AE Championship. Would you be able to enjoy an NIT run after that? I'd be happy for the team and I'd still watch every game. As a fan, though, an NIT run would hardly be a consolation.

Lunardi still has us 16, but back in Philadelphia vs. Villanova.

Oddly he has us at 19-10, unless he's not counting 'provisional' D-I Utah Valley State.

Pomeroy and the T-U both said we're 20-10; our first twenty-win season is another milestone that I don't remember being mentioned this weekend.

It's listed as "Sunday Bracketology." With our game not being over until a bit after 4, I think it's easy to assume that the bracket was just created somewhere mid-day, because he has counted UVS in our win column before. Personally, I'd rather have the 16th seed in Philly/Dayton than the 15th in Greensboro/Dallas.

Based on Luanrdi's piece on SportsCenter this morning I agree that his Bracketology on the web is not up to date. This morning he called Villanova the most complete and overall #1 seed in the tournament meaning that where ever they play they will be getting the winner of the play-in game.

Also, as I mentioned before there is bound to be at least one or two no-name school's with even less respect then what is give UA sneak in based on an upset conference win. This clearly would bump us up to a 15 seed if it happens.

I just hope they get the job done on Saturday...anyone know if the game will be on ESPN 2 HD because...

RpiRatings.co currently has St. Peter's at #130, and UAlbany at #128, through games of yesterday.

Official NCAA RPI are not updated yet, but with one more game for St. Pete, and from a stronger conference, they probably will leap-frog....

Let's just hope that the selection committee notices the 21 wins, if UAlbany (hopefully) gets there.
