#102267 [FB] Game 6 - @ Richmond - 10/7 - 3PM

Posted by Clickclack on 07 October 2017 - 06:12 PM

Brunson is the real deal.  He put up 339 yards today.  He will be the best QB in the conference next year.  Your coach out-coached Richmond's.  Albany shredded Richmond's 4-2-5 all day.  Albany outplayed Richmond today and should have gotten the win.

Congrats on the win.  Funny that is what you saw because no one here likes Brunson. I also think UA as outcoached today.  Some terrible decisions by the staff but mostly the OC.

EDIT: Maybe no one is a bit strong.  There are a few people who do.  The jury is still out for me personally.
For the record... And I've been very outspoken in the past against him. I LIKE HIM, I belive at times he looks like that guy with 8 games under his belt but he continues to show me signs of developing.

I belive he'll take his lumps year... As soon as next year he will be the real deal. They will build that o line up as they are very young. He's got good receivers around him.

Yeah, I may be alone on that limb... But here I am.

I didn't see the game other than some clips but I'm not sure why people are riding Brunson... He was rushed all game, thrown back a bunch and still had a career day coming of a concussion on the road. This kid is developing well...

Our d got shredded and o line was wrecked.

The invite references fan experience...that has to be the scoreboard. That's a million dollar or close to it that we now don't have to pay for, squirreling the money away for a renovation.

#102041 Title IX violations

Posted by Clickclack on 05 October 2017 - 07:24 AM

The issue isn't Graham, it's a athletics leadership issue. How do you get to the point where you're off by 97 student athletes? You don't even need a proportional number of student athletes - just had to show that you were meeting the demand. Surely there are national or regional title IX conferences or compliance officer meetings where ideas are discussed.

I went through most of the other America East and CAA athletic websites and they all have either rowing, swimming or gymnastics that allow the women a chance for increased athletic participation. Someone in athletics administration must have noticed that.

It looks like we have a Senior Women's Administrator, a compliance officer, a deputy athletics director... did none of them go to Mark Benson and say there's an issue?

While we can kill the messenger in this case Graham and in reality a part of me sees the logic in that he was fine with the violations until his program was cut; so this amounts to sour grapes on his part. The reality is, let's not  put lipstick on this pig. It should have NEVER gotten to the point that there is a 97 student athlete men vs. woman discrepancy. Benson is not a stupid man, dollars to donuts he knew he had a problem and did NOTHING to address. He's been here long enough where he should not be allowed to distance himself from this. God knows how long this has been happening but he needs to take charge, lead from the front and fix this.

Turn this negative into a positive, NOT to simply be in compliance but actually do what is feasible to truly honor woman in sports, start up crew or gymnastics, whatever is most cost effective. The athletic department and by extension the school will be better for it.

Last point; the tennis team is so small, you telling me these kids couldn't have been taken care of and put on academic scholarship or something to give them a chance to finish their education? How much different would the optics have been if tennis was cut but the kids got taken care of and finished their degrees. It would have shown commitment to the kids that were recruited and came a long way to UA. There is a correct way to do things and what UA did.

I'm disappointed in the administration.

#101998 [FB] Game 5 - @ Elon - 9/30 - 2PM

Posted by Clickclack on 02 October 2017 - 11:52 AM

It's Monday and I'm still really confused. 2 good games by Brunson and then this...soon, very soon the dye will be cast. I said it before the season started, Gattuso's downfall will be not having a QB and not being able to identify and recruit a QB in his years here. That dope OC not helping him either...

Side note: I saw Singelais tweet this AM that Brunson has a concussion...in this CTE world, that sucks. Hope he gets better and doesn't have any long term effects. I think we'll see someone else at QB this week. No word yet on what the game plan is when Sussman is in, but my money is on 50 runs up the middle for 1.56 yards.

When they miss the playoffs again... At 7 wins, Gattuso can cry on Bernard's shoulder. BFF's for life...

I'm sorry... WE NEED A QB... he is not the answer .... sorry ... we have a national championship type defense ... with a division 3 offense.... and it starts and ends with the QB...

He's been awesome last two games... Or at least making big strides. I'm not ready yet to dump him.

Can we just give Brunson a standing o? Seriously, Ive been riding him like crazy but this man showed me something. He continues to pick up steam, throw after throw he was just making nice reads. Short, sidelines touch passes, scrambling though a collapsing pocket, blitz awareness. I think a few times he missed some opportunities to run when the defense had receivers bottled up. There really isn't a pass he can't make.

I'm proud of him... Can't believe I'm saying it. I've been hard in him. But he has been impressive.

Did he really flip out at his OC?

Yes... Right in front of me, first headset then second throw into the ground was the belt receiver.

Fired Bernard immediately before this game ends. This l if they lose is entirely on him.

Man I'm so pissed... This is unbelievable play calling. Gattuso flipped out. Threw his headset at Bernard's feet... He's had it.

THIS IS A TOTALLY OFF THE WALL AND ABSURD POST. PLEASE IGNORE OR TOTALLY SKIP IF YOU DESIRE. I MUST HAVE TOO MUCH TIME ON MY HANDS.

Anyhow, considering we our out of compliant on "OPPORTUNITIES." We could solve our problem by posting signs on campus, advertising for 97 women in excellent/good academic standing to walk-on and join a varsity women's team of their choice. They would not even have to practice or work a sweat if they so desired. They would only need to attend a requisite # of practices (# sport specific ncaa sanctioned.) They could use the time for studies and tutors would be provided (a small additional expense for graduate assistants would not significantly affect the athletic budget much.) A uniform and laundering service would be provided (another small expense) and they would need to attend the minimum # of homes games required to maintain ncaa participation standards. Since, walk-ons are not required to attend road games, they would be provided the opportunity to travel @ their own expense {car pooling recommended & a list of sleaze  (I mean inexpensive) motels would be provided.}  And if you think such an ad would generate too much of a response [and I doubt this], or the additional expenses too detrimental, simply post the signs in such remote locations that almost no one see's them. Remember we are only creating an "opportunity." Dictionary definition: " a set of circumstances that makes it possible to do something."
