  1. You know, I had a similar idea the other day. What if we took the Dane Train on the road locally for some home games at other venues to build and grow interest in the greater capital district (the down side is, among other reasons, we would likely lose money in such endeavors)? For example, a home game at the Glens Galls Civic Center? Or a game out in Utica at their events center (whatever it is called)? Or the Armory to attract more fans from downtown Albany and the Lark Street region. Even if they were exhibition games or games against teams like Oneonta but not Oneonta. Or what about a home game at the TUC vs a mid-major or high-major school? Could DK get Marquette to play us at the TUC? Maybe a pipe dream given the finances, but I like the Glens Falls idea ... .
  2. On the UAlbany basketball roster page, Coach K's bio is up. It says he went to "Hamton" University. Is this accurate? Perhaps it should it read "Hampton University." Looks like a typographic error. Just curious. On the Siena matter, I have always advocated for playing them twice a year. Once at the TUC, and once at SEFCU. I would rather see us play them a second time than watch a game at home against, for example, Canisius, with 2,000 fans (or less). Although playing a team from another conference twice in one year is not the norm, both games would be well attended, enjoyed, and spirited. The notion that playing Siena twice in one year would dilute the rivalry is nonsensical. I grew up in Ann Arbor, and I hate Ohio State every time we play them, in any sport, and on any day. Seeing Siena twice in a season might even add to the rivalry, although I do not have suggestions for how to award the Albany Cup. Maybe aggregate the scores like professional soccer tournaments. In any event, who cares about the physical Albany Cup and who has it. And I am bored of playing Columbia, Cornell, Canisius, Colgate, etc. Welcome to the U, Coach K! Great job at the press conference, and looking forward to getting back into following UAlbany basketball.
  3. What are the allegations? Just curious ... EDIT: Nevermind, I found out with a simple search online. If true, horrific ... .
  4. I have been catching bits and pieces of games this year when I can (I get most of my information on this forum)--it appears that Healy is not getting the same minutes. Is he injured? I thought I saw him playing yesterday against UNH; what is going on?
  5. Likely 7-9 finish in the league, and 3 more games until we look to next season ... .
  6. Is anyone else having trouble accessing the replay of this game through the ESPN app? All of the other on-demand games from today work fine except for the UAlbany football game--so frustrating!
  7. Notwithstanding the opponents CCSU played, an 11-1 record tells me that they pulled out wins on days when they were off, when the weather was bad, and when injuries or other misfortune arose. They will be a tough out and obviously don't take plays (or games) off. Just my $.02
  8. UVM packs the arena/gym that they have. I have said it for years on here: UVM gets 3 star recruits far more than we do. They recruit better. And then this (lights out America East): https://www.burlingtonfreepress.com/story/sports/college/vermont/2019/05/18/uvm-ready-break-ground-95-million-multi-purpose-sports-arena/3721384002/
  9. Announcer just complimented our conference and noted other teams possibly ahead of us: UVM, SB, and UMBC. It should be noted that two of those schools have new arenas (SB and UMBC) and UVM has one beautiful facility in the works. Upgrading our facilities including our fitness center(s) for students and athletes has to be part of the calculus here ... .
