Ball game. Blocking foul that looked like a charge to me.

Not really sure how that wasn't a charge. Not sure how he could have been more set. It was the lucky 3 at the end of the shot clock that ended the game.

I think that sequence went:

Down 2 with Nichols going to line - missed free throw.

On the other end, steal by Nichols, recovered by Duncan and then the duck-under three - down 5

Cremo to the line and misses - that's as close as we get.

Followed up by bell taking FOUR steps down the lane (no travel call, even homey announcers were speechless); bell gets bailed out by a 50-50 call (again homeys said it could have gone either way) makes 1 of 2 foul shots. We went from 2 down with a potential break away to 9 down. I might be off on the sequence of events, but watch the replay the FOUR steps are a fact! Vermont is good but a lot lucky too.

Somehow David and Joe have to get back on track and both have to mature a little , this is their JR year.

Foster and Clark need to buy in and be productive within the scope of the team concept.

It would be great if Conway ( has been sick and in a boot recently) and Anderson (?????) could become serviceable.

I don't get why Cohrain doesn't get any burn, the few times he's gotten in as of late, he's look OK or at least a warm/active body. Andersoon looks like he's put on about 15lb.

That's the thing.

Joe - regressed compared to last year IMO...maybe not in the averages but in general efficiency

David - regressed^2 compared to last year...in every facet of the game

Devonte - was at least serviceable on the offensive side last year, regressed massively, can't hit the ocean

Anderson - I thought he was VERY even keeled and serviceable last year as backup PG...added weight and can't even get in most games

Cochran - Was supposed to be a nice role player...can't even get into games like Anderson

The only people who I'd say 'improved' from last year are Stire and Charles. Those two have been doing great work in the post.

Rest of these guys haven't made any progress, or worse, took a step back.

As Click said, absolutely maddening. Forget game to game, half to half...you get various levels of effort minute to minute.

We're 23 games into the season...we are what we are. Over the last few days I've kind of gotten over it and no longer have any expectations. If we win, great...if we lose, what else is new.

Anyone notice that there was a short stretch in the 2nd half where

everyone was flying around going through their offensive sets...

I mean everyone was hustling, strong motion..... nobody just sitting, watching

Didn't last very long, but it did appear for a short time.

Why are you surprised...??

Tong & Cheek comments {but not totally}: We actually have vt. just where we want them. Even playing badly we gave them a scare. I DO NOT believe vt. will beat us twice more. Clean up a few things and we will beat them in 2 weeks when they come to SEFCU; and anything can happen in the tournament. We are capable of winning in Burlington and I am still convinced that it is more than possible for a number of other AmEast teams to play above themselves and knock vt out. In the last 10 years the #1 seed in the AmEast has gone on to the show only twice (I could be off by one here) and I do not recall (if ever) the #1 seed went two years in a row.

Could be just "tong in cheek" or hope commenting; but in one bid mid major conferences #1 seeds not even close to guaranteeing a trip to the show.

How many times during the 5 AE championship seasons did we lose to Vermont both times

during the regular season?

I don't see this Vermont team being that dominant. If we get our $iena together, we can beat

them. Pretty even yesterday. Refs making ridiculous calls and non-calls.

I did like our D..

I really believe that Nichols has struggled big time with his wrist and that alone has knocked the offense off center.

Joe has struggled with his feet and most recently with the ankle sprain.

Cochran is coming off major surgery and hasn't seemed to catch up and seems to be lost at times.

Devonte is struggling offensively but mainly because Dave and Joe are not in sync he's not getting the open lanes to the hoop he had before.and it appears he has no faith in his shot.

With the struggles on the perimeter Charles is drawing a lot more double teams and even his extremely high shooting percentage has taken a slight step back.

Add to all of this signs of immaturity on Joe and Davids part and we get bogged down in an offensive rut which at times (too often) affects are defense.

I can now see why Foster struggled to play at Texas Tech and Bradley (consistency).

Ahmad right now seems to believe his way is best and won"t/can't buy into CB's way and that's going to hurt his playing time and the team's chances of getting bench support because he is surely talented.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How can we play so poorly and still be in most games?????

After last nights poor (overall) effort I still think if we get solid play from Dave and Joe (not great play, though that would be awesome) we can beat UVM.

Disagree on Joe's offensive output and efficiency. It's up quite a bit over last year. Basically at his freshman year levels..but with nearly twice the playing time. Nichols has taken a step back. And Devante has taken a step back..but oddly enough..pretty much only with his three point shooting. Make rate is obviously way down. And his attempts are up..because of both more playing time and he's getting wide open looks because he keeps missing. The weird thing with his shot is he's been consistently long..hitting back iron and the scoreboard on almost all his misses..plus a few air balls.

Agree on Joe, David's numbers are a nightmare, horrendous season by him. Almost to the point where you have to wonder which player is he really, the efficient one that performed great last year or this mess. There doesn't seem to be any end in sight and no one to bring off the bench so you pray he gives you something positive.
