Nano College

When do we learn what UAlbany received in exchange of being stripped of its highest profile college, land seizures and missed investment opportunities over the past decade?

UAlbany Foundation had a 50% ownership of the start up costs so Cuomo and Kalyeros can't completely steal everything despite their positions.

Is Nano really gonna spin up an Athletic Dept. LOL...This whole separation is a joke. Still to this day no one has explained why this is necessary. What can they do without UA that can't be done being part of UA. Should have just given that despot the presidents seat when the were hiring.

What is at the heart of splitting this from UA? I simply don't get it...what can CNSE do with SUNYIT that they can't do being part of UA? So they are going to be a part of SUNYIT and yet lease services from UA? Amazing how retarded this whole thing is.

What are we getting out of this?

You can see how it is developing into a CNSE system, within the SUNY system. Not branch campuses but 'branch collaboration':

And a 3rd CNSE connection to Buffalo announced this week with a deal involving IBM and UB:

You can bet CNSE would be pleased if people viewed it as flagship of its own successful system.

CNSE is a curse. The worst thing to ever happen to UA. UA lost a decade of funding to CNSE but it was argued that CNSE was a UA college and we should support it. Then CNSE was ripped from UA.

I wouldn't shed a single tear if CNSE was leveled in an earthquake.

I think that's pretty extreme...it's still a boon to the area and state, giving people jobs etc. I'm kind of over it at this point when I don't think to deeply about how they ripped this from UA.

Having said that...screw them, I wouldn't give them a nickel moving forward, charge them for all the services we provide them. They can send their students to UA to take courses but have an agreement in place the fairly compensates UA for the use of our facilities, faculty etc. If not they can go their separate way and spin up their own degree programs, faculty, academic support etc. The day of bleeding UA are over...pay up or go your own way. Not one nickel or resources should be further diverted from UA or our students to benefit them...we've paid enough!
