Besides defense, it appears to me that this team desperately needs someone vocal and with fire in his belly. And that person has yet to step up. It’s hard to believe that after getting their a$$es handed to them in the first half no one was upset enough to fire up the team. Then to come out completely flat in the second half to dig the huge hole. Ten minutes of passionate playing does not a game make. Where is that leader? Who is that leader? WB needs to try and find one, but they should naturally develop.

Who has shown some fire on the court? After a hard foul? When they are behind?

We need someone who will deliver that a hard foul, get in someones face and show some fire. An attitude where we wont back down from anyone. Maybe its just the players coach recruits. Hes always said his players are the nicest guys on the court and they need to be mean at times.

To me it appears we really don't have that strong personality which could be this teams achilles heel. I'm am not sure if that can be developed. We definitely don't have a get in your face type guy, everyone in the rotation seemingly doesn't want to rock the boat. Where is Levi Levine type guy who demanded effort by his teammates?????

Effort is what is missing, the talent is there.

#s136-139 are RIGHT ON. Need a floor leader and/or someone @ the ½ (other than the coaches) to say what needs to be said {aka Jacob Iati a couple years back.}

Nichols at times seems to have the fire, but also seems afraid to assert himself. I do not know if he is worried coach will sit him, if he "screws up," makes an aggressive foul, or even takes a T; or if he just lacks the confidence to take charge.

Bigs need to be more aggressive. If you foul out, at least let the other team know you were there. Maybe you are out, but your opponent having taken a beating all game is less effective crunch time?

That was the surprising part to me also. I was thinking CB might sub all five starters out at the first media timeout in the second half because there didn't seem to be any difference.

At times I've thought Travis Charles and Nichols have been the emotional leaders on this team but that wasn't the case the other night. We had more or less smooth sailing the first couple of months of the season. It will be interesting to see how this team reacts to some adversity.
