  1. I believe Albany will be ranked in the top 100. And yes, Saints fans can actually compliment the Great Danes once in a while!
  2. Hey jon, 4 out 5 years! Keep worlking that desk job in L.I. Much love.
  3. The only impact this story has on UAlbany, is that it will be Kenny, not Kojo, who will be dropping a triple double on the Great Danes this year!
  4. 05-06 RPI Bucknell - 42 VCU - 81 St. Joe's - 43 Stanford - 86 Where's that big Pepsi Arena (I mean TUC) advantage? 15144[/snapback] You're kidding me right?? Are you really going to compare hosting a Patriot League Team with a perrenial power from the Pac-10??? BTW, Siena will be hosting Hofstraa this year; a team that had an RPI of 30 and beat George Mason twice last year. Knowledge is a good thing. Keep reading the Siena board!!
  5. "Enjoy your Home and Home vs NJIT." Thanks, I will. I'll also enjoy playing host to Stanford and St. Joe's next year. You should come down to the Pepsi next year Patch and enjoy some big-time college basketball.
  6. Sorry GDG, I guess my initial post was not clearly written. Let me rephrase. Bucknell will not be receiving any Top 25 votes next year.
  7. Hey Patch and Poolman, what's up with the personal attack? I was trying to compliment Albany on a nice home game, but also point out a few facts. Bucknell is graduating two of there top three players from last year including the reigning Patriot League Player of the Year, Charles Lee. Those are the facts. Now shut your trap until you know what the hell you are talking about.
  8. Bucknell has lost all their top players. They will not be receiving any Top 25 votes next year. However, it's still a nice game to have at home.
  9. I don't think any Siena fan is overly confident of winning this years game with Albany. Like any good rivalry, I expect the annual Siena-UAlbany game to be very close from here on in.
  10. If you recall olddog, that was Siena's third game in five days. The Saints were in command the entire game and leading by nearly twenty points in the second half. The guys ran out gas at the end of regulation and Albany made a nice comeback. In overtime, however, Siena dominated.
  11. Let me get this straight, playing IVY League Champ Penn at the Palestra, Big East Champ Syracuse in the Dome, at Hofstra (beat George Mason twice!), and at Umass is a weak schedule? You guys really need to learn about the landscape of college basketball. Siena also had some quality wins over an A10 team, a very good Patriot league team, and of course against the America Least Champion. Of course I will agree that Albany was beaten by some heavyweights last year, but they also played and lost to some real slugs (Harvard and Sacred Heart to name a couple). By the way, Fran recruited the Big East player of the year while at Notre Dame and two NBA lottery picks. Learn more about college basketball.
  12. Are you referring to the same Syracuse team that won the Big East Tournament this year? By the way, UConn was the best collection of talented individuals, NOT the best team.
  13. Hey Dane, don't even try to compare coaching credentials. Coach Fran has taken two separate programs to the NCAA's and has more than 20 years of coaching experience including a long tenure at Notre Dame as a top assistant. Let's be realistic about what the Danes accomplished this year...they won the America Least. The second worst conference in the country!! They did not beat a team in the RPI top 150!! Finally, SIENA BEAT ALBANY!
  14. Actually, that is not a very good analogy. There is one fundamental difference; Giant Stadium is home to both the Jets and Giants, where as the Pepsi Arena is home to only the Saints. That reason alone is why this game will never alternate home teams as long as it is played at the Pepsi. Playing at the RAAC is an option, but again, it is not a large enough venue for the game.
  15. I for one believe that the Siena/UAlbany game should always be played at the Pepsi. It really creates a big-time college basketball atmosphere which is great for the fans and players. Can you imagine what the place will be like when both Alabny and Siena are preseason favorites to win their conferences? That day is right around the corner and I would expect a war infront of a sell-out crowd.
