  1. Same pattern we've seen all season. How many games did UA women lead at the half and then lose in the final 2 quarters?
  2. It seems that the UA women's team has lost what little fan following it has had this season. It's a shame how this once dominant program has faltered. How many games have they lost in the second half?? Right now it's hard to see a turnaround in the near future :-(
  3. This sounds very strange. Why would players leave the team with just a few games left, and the potential to go to the NCAA tournament? Coach Abe does not have the reputation for running players off.
  4. Oneonta ? :-/ If we're nostalgic for SUNYAC rivalries let's at least play Potsdam, and have the game in University Gym :-)
  5. Already around 70 people registered, from the list of people who made themselves visible on the registration. I'm registered and ready to go! Already nervous about the game. I remember what it was like in 2007. It's going to be a madhouse ... . My favorite sign from the 2007 game: "I've seen this movie before - we win" here's hoping the for a three-peat to end the trilogy Free Carl Ross ;-0
  6. May that always be the UAlbany legacy U Know UA
  7. There were several references to the significant role that the RACC played in President Hall's time at UA. One of the speaker's also commented on UA's milestone win of last Saturday, a reference that I'm afraid more than a few in attendance were totally in the dark about :-/ I saw Coach Brown and Coach Patterson, and most if not all of both the mens and womens basketball teams. I'm sure there were others too. From my perspective the speeches were all quite poignant, each revealing another facet of this examplary leader whose days among us were too few.
  8. If only the Gazette could get it right The headline reads Siena Blanks Albany, 6-0 Its only when you actually read the write-up that its revealed the actual score was Albany 6, Siena 0.
  9. The football stadium project is nowhere yet. UA either has to get a big chunk of state money (like SB did) or a MAJOR donor. The status of the stadium seems to be in the same boat as the new building for school of business --- plans, but no significant money to move it along. The tragic circumstances of President Hall leave a vacuum as far as launching the next major fund raising effort. All of this is IMHO of course.
  10. I see that the there's a new coach for women's tennis. http://www.albany.edu/sports/stories.htm#kinard What happened to Conny Grunes ? She was listed as interim coach, and at 10-6 the team had more success than had been seen in awhile.
  11. 14829[/snapback] Two comments that may or may not be related: 1)this is the same issue that came up involving the Union College women's soccer team 2)while front page stuff for the TU, I don't think the UA situation even got reported in today's Schenectady Gazette sports section (may have been after deadline, or maybe it was a TU "exclusive")
  12. Forgot to add that UA's co-ed team also beat that other D-1 (except football) school
  13. Prof. Dana Peterson of UA's School of Criminal Justice was the fastest female in the annual GHI Workforce Team Challenge 3.5 mile road race held yesterday in downtown Albany, with a time of 21:40 The UAlbany co-ed team finished second in category, and three women, led by Peterson, finished in the top 15 in their classification http://www.hmrrc.com/View/PDFs/Results/06ghib.htm http://www.hmrrc.com/View/PDFs/Results/06ghia.htm
  14. Couldn't make it to the lax game due to other committments. How was the crowd ? Couldn't have asked for better weather
