Coach Brown

Recommended Posts

Per sources, Quinnipiac coaching search has narrowed to four names: John Becker, Baker Dunleavy, Jared Grasso and Travis Steele. #MAACHoops

Wouldn't be surprised if it's Becker. Might help us in the AE getting that guy out. He's one of the only guys who can beat Brown regularly.

But glad Brown is going to be here still :P

The league needs good coaches...I hope he stays.

This league needs a lot more than good coaches!

I can see that side of it, but I'd rather UVM get a worse coach and not stand in our way of conference championships. Eventually we'll get a conference upgrade if we win 10 of the next 15 :P.

But it helps raise the profile of the league. What if you had 4 teams regularly better than 125 in rpi? Instead of half the league with coaches like Gallagher.

Is there a chance that Brown has made it known he likes working at UA, living in Albany and his family likes it there? Maybe saying something like, it would take X dollars or this level in order to leave. I have no idea if that is even something possible but just something I thought about.

That's exactly what it is...he's been pretty vocal that he doesn't want to leave. Now, as the rest of us who toil in sweat making a buck, someone backs up the truck you go or at least listen.

We are absolutely, without question, factually based, looking into a full gut renovation of SEFCU. They are in the process of fundraising. Many rumors/discussions on what the gut will look like, including flipping the court direction.

Add in the new scoreboard for next year...and its slowly but surely for this program. It may take 2 years...or 5 years...but there will be a change. And when that happens, look out. Albany is a very easy place to recruit kids, and he's a phenomenal coach. Much like Bob Ford...(well, Coach Ford had it much worse with University Field), Coach Brown does a whole lot with so-so facilities. When he gets those improvements, we will be beyond solid.

Like all of you, I am hoping WB stays at UA until he retires. He's still s relatively young man, so that's probably too much to ask for. He can still live well on his current income. Wife happy, family happy, coach happy. But there's money and there's MONEY. Life changing money. Like say $6 M for 5 years. Life changing money brings many life changes that are not so nice. Like maybe having to move some place that's not so great. Plus increased money brings increased pressure and lots of it, and alumni and booster demands. It all has to get weighed.
