A few thoughts

1. Lot of depth at linebacker. You have Cox and Morrison who started last year, Nicastro and Ngachie back from injury, and tthe Maryland transfer. Not sure if Mencer will play LB - roster says RB but the roster's frequently inaccurate. I guess the Wyoming transfer from the spring is no longer here.

2. Secondary should be better, certainly a lot of depth. Coach has mentioned a few times that the JC transfer CB looked good in the spring and he was looking for more athletic players in the secondary. Coach also mentioned that freshman Marucci was a really top recruit that had higher offers. Will be interesting to see how that all plays out with both starters returning

3. Still think DL is a concern but if the secondary and linebackers are better, maybe it's less of a concern. Maybe the Eastern Michigan transfer and the freshman from NJ can help out.

4. OL - I think the starters are the same as last year. Don't know much about this group but I'd guess they'll be solid as they've been around a while

5.WR's - should be really good, Roberson and Harris are back. Two of the freshman are really highly regarded and Alston was moved there. Seems like a lot of good players - hope they all stay. Not clear that we have a QB that can get them the ball.

6 QB and RB - i dont think any of us are clear that there will be good QB play. not even sure what to say here except it was an area of weakness last year and any improvement would make a big difference. For RB, not sure who backs up Ibitukan-Hanks but it'll be a lot different than last year where there were 2 guys splitting carries. If there's any sort of passing game that can keep the defense honest, Ibitukan-Hanks might have a very good year.

3 of the first 4 games are winnable. Here's hoping we get off to a good start.

I keep hearing people talk about Nick Dillon, and I see his twitter has him as UA Class of '19...but I don't see him listed on the roster. Seems odd because there are no downward transfer rules (sitting out a year).

Anyone have some scoop on him?

Today's report is up.

Coach is high on Kareem Brown...and all of the back 7.

Coach talked about Nick Dillon addition (not much, just that we have him).

Sussman is the clear #1...and Crook and Brunson are in a fight for the #2 spot. (Gotta think that Brunson may be a year away based on experience...but it is pretty telling that there is even a fight for the #2 spot; Brunson would seem to have more upside and likely the reason they are in a fight for the spot).

There's a Twitter post by him that says the roster will be updated before the first game. He wasn't mentioned (nor did anyone ask about him) at the meet and greet today.

Any other reports from the meet and greet?

Blitz wasn't there. The event was moved to the press level because of the heat, and they didn't think having the food on tables at Blitz's head level was a good idea.

Season ticket holders of non-gold seats will be able to rent chairback/cushions to be attached for the season. They may rent them to walkup fans as well.

They introduced the coaches, no players were present. Some discussion of future OOC, I think it was ODU, Pitt, and Central Michigan the next three years.

Otherwise, as is usual at these things, everything looks great for the coming season.

Meet and greet: Food was good and they had ice cold Shock Top and decent wine...moved it to the office suite floor of Casey Stadium because of the heat...the AC was straining but it was better. Coach was high on

O-Line and its depth, LBs and secondary, wide receiver and TEs. Sussman in the lead. He and crook will "make mistakes" but he feels good about them. Very high on Alston as a WR....has about 4.4 speed and catches it well. Should be good on jet sweeps and end around plays. Benson and Gattuso responded to a question regarding scheduling and they're trying to arrange a Syracuse game for 2020, 2021. Also talking to Army. Long talk with GG and his wife...they stopped by our table. No Blitz :-( They wanted to but said that it was iffy with a 170lb dog + food + people. I'm sure I forgot stuff.

Wait...what? I can rent a chair back for the season and it'll be at my seat before every game or do I have to pick it up? MORE DETAILS! That is AWESOME!
