#106851 [MBB] Game #30: 2/24/18 - 7:00pm - vs Maine

Posted by UAFAN on 20 February 2018 - 12:44 PM

Ordinarily, I'd have a rant about how spoiled we are to be complaining about how unsatisfying NCAA tournament appearances and 20-win seasons are but I suspect you guys are just trying to irritate any Bing fans who might be reading our board.

BTW, a bunch of us were at our most recent NCAA tournament game against Oklahoma. Buddy Hield played right to the end and it was a six point game with a minute left.

And my throat is still soar from yelling at those Oklahoma alumni refs!

Anybody got $50 mil in liquid assets????  Bring back the Albany Attack? Would think they could do better now than the 3-4K they averaged back in 2000-2003.

Tuition plan demands students stay in New York New aid requires residency equal to number of years benefit received

"A recipient shall agree to reside exclusively in New York State, and shall not be employed in any other state, for a continuous number of years equal to the duration of the award," the legislation states.

Recipients must also sign a contract that would convert the scholarship into a student loan in the event that they decide to take a job out of state within the period of obligation. Exceptions can be made for students who continue to pursue an undergraduate education after the five-year maximum runs out, or begin pursuing a graduate degree full or part time.

Speaking Monday morning on a conference call with members of newspaper editorial boards, Cuomo said the rationale for the residency requirement was clear: "Why should New Yorkers pay for your college education, and then you pick up and move to California?" he said. "The concept of investing in you (and) your education is that you're going to stay here and be an asset to the state. If you don't want to stay here, then go to California now — let them pay for your college education."

Stretch Internet to Become America East’s New Digital Network Partner

BOSTON – The America East Conference announced today a partnership with Stretch Internet to become the conference’s new digital network platform provider starting in July. The agreement commences with the 2017-18 academic year and will run through 2020-21.

“We are excited to partner with Stretch Internet on the next iteration of our digital network, taking AmericaEast.TV to the next level,” said America East Commissioner, Amy Huchthausen. “Our member institutions produce hundreds of high-quality live events each year and Stretch’s dynamic platform will provide fans with a comprehensive viewing experience that will serve as the perfect complement to ‘The AE on ESPN3’. With Stretch’s enhancements to AmericaEast.TV, these two channels will ensure America East stays at the forefront of live video production for years to come.”

Stretch Internet will provide a first-class viewing experience to America East fans with 1080p HD streaming across all computers, phones, tables and major OTT platforms, including Roku and Apple TV. Additionally, the Stretch Internet platform will provide enhanced features such as instant highlights, live statistical integration and the ability to watch multiple America East events simultaneously. As it has always been, AmericaEast.TV will remain free to users.

“Today is a big day for Stretch Internet,” said Stretch Internet President and CEO, Ryan Ermeling. “For several years now, we’ve had our sights on the America East Conference. Their demographic, their goals and their needs are a perfect match for Stretch, and we’re excited to deliver phenomenal experiences to their schools, fans, parents, alumni and other constituents. I don’t think it’s any secret that the America East has become a technology trailblazer under Amy and her team, and we’re excited to help advance their vision."

AmericaEast.TV has been the home of over 2,500 live events produced by the conference’s member institutions and the league’s streaming partners since launching in 2013. ‘The AE on ESPN3’ launched in November as the home for America East basketball and will feature more than 3,000 games over the next decade.

A message from head coach Scott Marr:

I need your help for the next 2 weeks. Coach Matt Painter is representing Niemann Pick Type C in the ESPN Infiniti Coach Challenge. If he wins $100,000 will be donated to help find a cure for kids like JP who are battling this horrible disease. Coach Painter got involved with this challenge because he is friends with the Smith Family who lost 3 of their 4 children to this nasty disease. Coach Painter came in second last year, we need your help to share with your friends to vote everyday. Yes you have to create an ESPN account but I promise you that you won't receive any junk mail. Please do this today, vote everyday until March 11th. Only 500 children suffer from this disease so we need everyone's help. Go to votemattpainter.com and vote everyday and share for JP!
