OT: Can't upload avatar in user profile

DP, something is up with the user profile system. Went to update my avatar and I can't. Accidentally removed mine and now I'm avatar-less. I like it when avatar's are used as it's easier to know who posted without checking the usernames, etc.

I seemed to have solved this...

If you tried to upload directly to the website, it won't work. However, if you change your photo by using a link to an online image (such as the one I'm showing now which is stored in my IMGUR account), it works.

Awesome. Glad you got it to work. I'm adding five points to your account for making it work.

I have noticed over the years that when I put up the avatar, it needs to be under

a certain size. Normally, I find one online already, and go to the properties to see the size

of the image. Not sure if I ever reduced the size of an image myself, and then uploaded it.

Side question. What are all the dots under our names on the left? Design feature or something else? Not saying I don't think they should be there just wondering if they mean anything.

Think of it like rep. Or like, some FB teams put 'logo stickers' on helmets to signify important plays, etc. (Ohio State, etc.). It just shows what kind of member you are in this community...someone with 1 dot might barely post or login...someone with 5 rows is obviously a large part of this forum community.

I think it wants ones that are at least 200px and then it will downsize as needed. At least this forum specifically.

Other forums I use/run sometimes have a limit of like 300px and it will deny anything larger.

Thanks. I've never seen one smaller than the five lines which is why I asked.

Yeah the people who post here are pretty regular...always the same people. Occasionally I have seen one or two people that have like 15 posts and thus not that many dots.
