UALBANY FOOTBALL TO ANNOUNCE NLI SIGNINGS NEXT WEEK
UAlbany Sports Information 12-13-2017

ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany football program expects to announce its first members of this year’s recruiting class next week during the new early signing period for high school prospective student-athletes.

NCAA legislation passed this past spring created a new signing period for football between Wednesday, Dec. 20, and Friday, Dec. 22, during which time prospective student-athletes currently in high school can sign and submit their National Letters of Intent.

Junior-college transfers also can sign their NLIs between Dec. 20 and Jan. 15, and all prospective student-athletes can sign during the traditional spring signing period, which this year begins Feb. 7 and continues through April 1.

UAlbany plans to announce any signings during the early period on UAlbanySports.com and on social media, including the program’s official Twitter page (@UAlbanyFootball).

Wow. Some big time offers.

Wow. Some big time offers.

Looks like most school make 30 or more offers. The Military Academies might make double that!!! Not sure how it works if they made an offer months ago to a kid and someone new commits. Can they withdraw offers? What happens if a kid has waited to see what else might come and then we have already signed someone at his position. I guess he missed the boat. There are some that were made last spring and over the summer. Some of those kids have committed elsewhere - some have not committed anywhere yet. They could lose out I guess. Does anybody know??

Commits that I find. If there are more I don't see them - I suppose there could be. Who knows how many the other 20 or so offers are kids who will come on board OR if all of these will sign National Letters of Intent tomorrow, the first day allowed under the new rules.

QB Jeff Undercuffler 6' 6" 220 lbs

TE Ian Renninger 6' 6" 225 lbs

OG Kobe Thomas 6' 2" 263 lbs

C Niko Culnan 6' 3" 287 lbs

DB / QB Joe Casale 6' 3" 187 lbs [he will be a DB I think]

ILB Robert Lachmann 6' 3" 230 lbs

FS Xavier Smith 5' 9" 155 lbs

DE/LT Joseph Halasy 6' 5 1/2" 240 lbs

WR George Richardson 6' 3" 205 lbs.

T Mohab Omer 6’ 5 330

I see 23 offers where the kid has not committed anywhere yet. There are many where offers were made from the spring, throughout the summer and into the fall where they have committed elsewhere. AND there may be more offers that I have not been able to find anywhere.

I'm pretty sure Notre Dame College is not the Notre Dame you are thinking of.

Edit:

There is University of Notre Dame https://www.nd.edu/

And Notre Dame College: http://www.notredamecollege.edu/

It's Notre Dame College not University - sorry - I had already changed it on my original post - They are a Div II school. He is not that big but fast - well he is 5' 9" but 210 lbs and quick!
