Nice to see that the women's golf team is on first place with a 13-stroke lead over Fairfield and Dayton after first round of MAAC championship on Disney course in Florida. LCC is in 5th place. Play ends Sunday. Link is in the UA Athletics Website preview story about the team and tournament.

It looks like this could be the beginning of another UAlbany run of championships. They graduate one senior (who didn't tee off in the championships, and who I think graduated in the fall), and their only signed recruit for next year averaged a 76 last year in high school.

With the overall MAAC (blech!) champion being a freshman from UA, that's one more program in good shape... In such good shape I won't even take a potshot at the status of the baseball program!

That's 6 championships so far this year.

Although I don't count multiple team competitions in my UA vs $iena cup (so I won't count golf as a win over $iena)

here's the update after lacrosse's whoopin over the aints:

Anybody know the results of tennis yesterday?

Edit: UA tennis fell short
