#105612 [MBB] Game #19: 1/13/18 - 12:00pm - @ Maine

Posted by MRSGDG on 15 January 2018 - 09:43 PM

Can we just all admit NONE OF US KNOW ANYTHING?

That didn't last long lol.
Why... What, you have this team figured out?
Huh?

I assume your post above was stating all the fans complaining about using the bench , do this do that was for nothing (after the Maine game) is for nothing because as fans we know nothing.

Now the wheels fell off again (Bingo) and the world is on fire, so that concept that we know nothing is out the door. (Since everyone is back to giving all advice)

That is all lol.

2nd half at Maine gave up 56pts
2nd half at Bing gave up 50pts

Doesn't matter your offense..that is a defensive problem.

It's all crap...this generation, that generation...Life has a way of teaching its lessons. You either learn to bust your ass, work hard, push forward or you don't and not reap the rewards of hard work.

Agreed, which is why its annoying when the bias is brought up. It is character , and if this team can't work hard and can't push forward as you stated then maybe that's on the coaching staff for not finding the certain kids with a certain personalities / character that need to be on the team because somehow other teams are out toughing us.

Levine, Lillis, Iati...  Loved that stretch of UA basketball.

"Kids are more sensitive"......  too funny.

Defensive, sensitive.... oh the youth of today.

My point exactly when I called it a generational thing last week. SOFT.

Explain how other teams are tougher and they are the same generation?

Just an excuse..

Nichols 3-13 and keeps firing...

Who else should be chucking up the ball? Not like we have any offensive beasts just sitting in the wings. Team as a whole is just not doing it. Where is Travis in this game? And we have missed 8 fts. We are also not hitting "and 1" or put backs. No clue the solution..

#105056 [MBB] Game #16: 1/3/18 - 7:00pm - vs Hartford

According to Wylands show, at halftime CB went into the locker room,, pulled out a chair, crossed his legs and said since nobody on this team is upset about this game, Im not going to be either.

Softest group ever. Probably a generational thing.
Same old same old..every generation thinks the next is lazy and sucks..lol.

1993 article... http://www.newsweek....neration-194042
Probably, but these kids probably never lived life without a smartphone in their hand. Theres just something different.
1993 article...

"Growing up in the '70s and '80s, the twentysomethings were indulged with every toy, game and electronic device available. They didn't even have to learn how to amuse themselves since Mom and Dad were always there to ferry them from one organized activity to another."

And what does a smartphone have anything to do with anything? If it's not a smartphone it's an Atari.

Or how about quotes from 1700 or 1800s that say same thing about young people... http://mentalfloss.c...ning-everything

Some how those same 20 yr olds with smartphones in their hands at Hartford had urgency and hardness to win.

Maybe we just have a team with players who have a personality where they do not understand the urgency of playing the game. And that's on the coaching staff to figure out how to get them to understand that or for them to change the personnel on the court to people who do. But as others have stated in this thread.. it's kind of hard when we have a bench that's not doing much, three red shirts and someone named Xavier who's kind of MIA. Just my 2cents.

Harford normally shots 32% from 3, shooting 73% tonight.

Seriously??? Youre going to go with that?! Every single person knows what Hartford does!!

Mid major top 25 lmao

"I'm going with that?"

Dude, I posted a stat that's it lol.

It was a fact that at that point in the game they were shooting lights out.

#104920 [MBB] Game #21: 1/18/18 - 7:00pm - vs UMass-Lowell (5th Annual Coaches Cure CF)

Posted by MRSGDG on 03 January 2018 - 05:34 PM

This is the 5th Annual Coaches Cure CF game.

The annual UAlbany Coaches Cure CF game began at UAlbany with a 74-63 win over Maine during the 2013-14 season. Since then, the effort has raised nearly $15,000 in the fight against cystic fibrosis.

The goal of Coaches Cure CF is simple, to raise awareness of cystic fibrosis and further the mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation by supporting development and research programs targeting new therapies and eventually, a cure. Coaches Cure CF began at Iona College in 2011 and grew to include Providence College, Seton Hall University, and the University at Albany. We encourage and welcome coaches, teams, and communities to assist with the fight against this disease and make CF stand for cure found.

The coaching staff will be wearing sweat suits to raise awareness.

  • In the past there have been silent auction items for people to bid on at SEFCU Arena with all proceeds going to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Unfortunately, that is not an option anymore.

  • Although there wouldn't be a silent auction item tied to it (who doesn't love a good basket of boos or a tickets to a concert), if you're still interested in helping find a cure for CF you can go here...  https://ualbanycoach...passioncff.org/ ...which is a specific UAlbany Coaches Cure CF game fundraising page.

Feel free to pass this along to anyone you may know. There is also a game ticket option when donating (similar to the Breast Cancer fundraiser Football did this season).

THANK YOU!
