U may think I'm crazy but if I'm Brown I may bring in 2 5th year Srs unless I can get a can't miss JUCO player. Season not over , just food for thought.

I don't think you're crazy but I'm not sure we need multiple 5th year guys.

Our two best regular seasons - 2015(1st) and 2016 (2nd) we had dynamic scoring guards coming off the bench and both were freshman. 2015 was Wheeler Baker and 2016 was Joe Cremo.

My thought behind the 2 proven 5th year guys is this ... we have Cremo and Nicols's. Name the other 3 starters that you feel very comfortable with?

X-No

Campbell-No

Clark- if still on team . No

Conway-No

5 freshman -No

A proven JUCO? Maybe.

I'm not a college coach but if I were Brown u have 2 very good senior guards. There will be very good 5th year guys around . U sell the crap out of those two .

Whatever CB does I hope he brings in two quality BIGS - probably 1 JC ( hopefully 3 years eligibility) and 1 5th year .

With Healy, Rizzuto and de Sousa we should have depth on the perimeter with Healy and Rizzuto being excellent shooters and de Sousa giving us solid athleticism and scoring from the SF. Hopefully they can learn to defend.

CB has compared Lulka to Brent Wilson (I'll take that) and supposedly Hanks is learning/improving this season.

All 5 of them will have 4 years.

Devonte last year vs this year...it's BAD folks...really bad!

Obviously struggling from deep (understatement), but I don't see anything bad there from your best and maybe only real stopper on the perimeter. We really only notice the offensive flaws if the stars are having an off game. Thought yesterday Campbell settled for too many two point jumpers (there's a balance between taking what they give you and realizing they're giving it to you for a reason).

IMO anyone who doesn't appreciate what Devonte brings to this team is out of their mind. He's the type of player all good teams NEED to win, the ultimate role guy. Any offense you get is a bonus, and when he's slashing and grabbing offensive rebounds it's huge for this team considering what he does on the other side of the ball.

The major mistake I made preseason and I'm guessing everyone else did also is I looked at the pieces and loved what I saw without realizing that most are incomplete. Our best defender can struggle on offense, our offensive stars can struggle on defense, the guys we have coming off the bench can shoot but aren't good defenders.

To put it simply either our stars play like stars in the game or we're in trouble. Good news is everyone in this league is flawed (including Vermont, who just masks theirs better than everyone else). We don't have a three and D guy...we have a D guy and two three guys coming off the bench (well one right now since Ahmad is MIA). When everyone can do half a whole it becomes a problem, especially when someone has an off game in the one area they contribute from.

You can tell right away when Joe and David's legs get tired...they can play solid D, as soon as they're tired their man can beat them and they struggle getting through/around ball screens.

BTW after all of this if we make two open shots we normally make we come out of UMBC with a win...and with everyone forgetting the issues since winning cures call. I'm pretty sure they've only still lost 1 game at home this season (to Vermont). Then again the two shot thing can be said about a couple of our losses, figure 2-3 possessions usually determine most games.

I just don't think we can lose sight of that fact that the Nichols-Cremo-Campbell back court is going to have two seasons with 20+ wins. If we had some punch coming off the bench we'd be having a different conversation now.

5 freshman and 2 emotionally fragile senior captains.

Weve had no one show any sort of leadership out there this year when needed. Why should fans think otherwise come next season?

Talking about UMBC only having a home loss to Vermont on the season

Interesting point UA'08 - should be interesting how that plays out.

I try (and it's really tough at times) to see the cup as half full.

We will have talent and I hope some how mental toughness can be achieved!!! (Don't ask me how)

I still like our chances now but if I was a betting man I wouldn't wager (LMAO)!!!!

WB has done it before so it wouldnt shock me the least bit.

Would like to see a philosophy shift from getting to the NCAA tournament to winning the regular season.
