#106763 [MBB] Game #29: 2/18/18 - 1:00pm - @ UMBC

I know it seems like I'm being negative but some major observations and I challenge anyone to debate this:

Cremo is a great players but has missed SEVERAL, SEVERAL big free throws throughout his career. I can name 4 games.

Campbell, unless major improvement, should play about 8 to 10 minutes next year.

This team does not get BIG/NEEDED defensive stops when it counts. Seems like never.

Bottom line is this is an extremely underachieving team. Extremely disappointing. The AE is terrible.

Malachi de Sousa has moved up to number 2 ranked player in all of Connecticut. Wow. Article on same website says he as an absolute steal. I guess we will see. But there is definitely cause for excitement.

Cremos missed a ton of free throws in the last 4 games .

We played very very well in my opinion. We had leads of 30-13. Up 9 at the half. Up 10 with 10 to play and we lost. I hate to say this but we may beat Vermont 1-15 times. They are just the better team. Plain and simple.

Verbal Commits says we've offered Yannis Mendy, a 6'8 juco PF. Mendy attends the same junior college, Missouri State, that Devonte Campbell did.

Looks athletic, but JUCO defense is soooo bad. The good thing is that it looks like he turns 22 in early April. That means next year he will be 23 and 24 as a senior playing against 18,19,20 year olds.

Are the parking fees an attempt to raise funds for sefcu improvements or building of a parking garage? If so I would have no problem paying but I would love to know where the money goes.

excellent question and excellent point.
Still doesnt make good business sense to me. You want to build your fan base and would reap more profit by getting new folks to return, than by chasing potential new fans away through gouging them $10 for parking. #Business101

Completely agree. I've said this about football and basketball . Most on this board disagreed with me. Lower prices, build a fan base.

With 5 freshman on the roster next year and 2 scholarships remaining, you would have to think Brown will go with 2 JUCO kids. Or maybe 1 JUCO and 1 5th year senior.

With Joe and David being seniors next year I'm really hoping for an extremely impactful 5th year guy. Someone who looks at Joe and David and sees a possible big run next year. I think Foster is doing well but I would be hoping for someone way more impactful.

Wonder if CB will start the second half with his starters

Good question. We on this board have asked to sit Nichols and Campbell for a while. And what we saw is why we shouldn't sit Nichols and Campbell for a while . Haha .

I love where we are now as a program:

14-7 and that's disappointing/dismal (I think we all agree)

In Brown's 1st 4 seasons we never got to 14!  but we were excited with every win!

01/02   7-13 (partial year for CB)
02/03   7-21
03/04   5-23
04/05   13-15

It's great that we are down in the dumps at 14-7 it's a sign that we have arrived as a good Mid Major, now let's get better this Year!

Could always be worse, could be LCC, losing to everyone...projected now to finish with 8 or 9 wins all season, currently dead last in the MAAC. Patsos burning that program down to the ground after Mitch...lol

14-7 is a very good record. But I think most of us are looking/hoping to take the next step. We want to be a high Midmajor that competes with the best of them day in an day out. I don't want to see us plateau as just a good midmajor program.

I thought this was the team to do it, however I does not seem as such.

Hopefully we finish the season strong.

Just recreationally enjoy the rest of the season . Could be worse. We could be Siena.

Played better in the second half. But this team is not nearly as good as I thought they would be.

I guess the thing that gets me is that apparently we were pissed about the championship loss and how we would play hard .

Nope...Nope...Nope..Nope...

5 offensive rebounds to 0 .... just getting beaten . Plain and simple
