[FB] Game 7 - vs Maine - 10/21 - 3:30PM

Heres the thing...and 1882 will disagree, but Brunson wasnt bad. He really had zero time to throw in the first half. He had more time in the 2nd. He took a bad sack...but otherwise got rid of the ball even if it was incomplete to avoid losses. He played pretty smart.

Once the staff got creative, he hit guys that were in stride or open.

Diggs dropped a pass and MacDonald had two drops.

THis loss isnt on Brunson...and what I am dismayed about is our total lack of a real honest to goodness game plan. We are all over the place from game-to-game. And, I fully understand that we have to change schemes depending on a defenses strengths...but man, where was that play calling we saw in the 2nd part of the 4th Quarter. Why was that missing all game.

And it wasnt like Maine played a different scheme because we were up big...

Next year, there are ZERO excuses. We will be as deep as ever and as seasoned as ever. For me, its the year or somethings gotta change. Mark Benson has given this program as much resources as needed at this level. Its time to produce.

I have to respectfully disagree. Even when he had time Brunson missed EASY throws in the flat, missed a couple wheel routes and sailed way too many balls on the sidelines. Yes the line is young and a problem right now and I've thought his accuracy issues were because of pressure but today I watched that closely. There were a couple where he was pressured but a majority of them were just bad passes. I'm sorry if you don't agree but that is what I saw and it's a problem. I really want him to be good. I want him to improve and be our starter the next two years but it seems to be one step forward and two steps back.

As for the scheme change in the second half, they just decided to throw more and it really didn't change much other than the final drive where they got two long completions. The other long drive was basically one long run by Mofor and a FG. Rest of the drives were terrible. It's not like they ran up and down the field in the second half.

Well, I will have to take my eyes off the line (admittedly my focus today) and just watch the routes and the passes with much greater focus. You could very well be correct.

All I know is that this team is just not a team ready for prime time CAA football.

Poor showing and effort. Stupid penalties. Sack & Off sides made what could have been a game winning field goal @ least 10 yds further than it should have been {not saying he would have made it even if he was closer, but certainly better chance.} D could not make a stop when it counted in last 5 minutes. Team had two weeks to prepare & looked out of sync both O & D. This is on the coaching staff; and what is going on with this third down defense that barely makes it on the field in time. In fact a couple of times the stripes seemed to help us out by not letting maine get off a quick play????????

This team IS a major disappointment. Elon no O. Richmond no D. Tonight Neither. I know many are going to dispute the No D comment part of tonight (they only gave up 12 points); but time and again they could not make a play when it counted and left the inept O in poor field position all day.

Mistakes galore, dropped passes, penalties, taking a bad sack, horrible punting....this was a team effort stinker. All that being said, the D held them to 12 and outs ored the O. Bernard has got to go.

And let me add, based on who we have coming up and the way the offense is playing, I think we will be lucky to win another game. It makes me sad to say this.

Is it basketball season yet?

I enjoyed the game today and especially the pregame. Well done in that regard, UA! That said, as a long-time consumer of UA football, I cannot justify spending another sunny, warm day watching this product (I will still attend on dreary days unsuitable for other outdoor activities). Go Danes, for sure, but upstate NY has too many other acivities to pursue when the weather is this nice. I'll take, for example, some cider doughnuts and a hike in the woods or up a mountain over a three-point offensive performance. As a season ticket holder, the program has earned my dollar, but it also has to earn my time.

The complimentary Greek food was 'eh' for GDAC members before hand.

If referring to the other area behind the south endzone, yeah, that is usually rocking pre-game. Lots of tailgaters today in the lots too.

These stats jump out: 71 yds total offense in first half, 1-15 on third down, 9 penalties. It’s truly sad that the O laid a 3 point egg on a night with nearly 9,000 in the stands.

And can someone please replace or turn down the mic on the person doing the pre game and time out promos? People in my section are actually plugging their ears.

Sec 205 best line so far in the 2017 season after Sussman was inserted for his customary one yard run: “My family back in (insert home country here) knew he was going to run and they don’t even watch football!!” Can we please stop the Sussman running experiment?

My wife, a good sport and definitely not a football fanatic, said to me: “I don’t even know what’s going on, but I could tell they stunk.”

Should we look at this and say that they’ve lost three games by a total of 11 points or should we look at this and say that the offense hasn’t been able to put up a touchdown in two of the last three games? I mean URI dropped 34 on Elon and we got squat. Are we close or are we hopelessly offensively challenged?

The team has a CAA title and national championship contending defense...but a low level NEC offense. The offense is the issue and if Coach GG doesn't completely fix it next year, then UA will continue to be in this position. AND CAN THEY PLEASE FIND A FG KICKER!!! That's all I gotta say.

GDAC tent near endzone often has some little free food option. Seen it a few times. Once it was pulled pork.

Watched the game. Your D is impressive. Maine's record might not that great....but the Black Bear offense can be a high octane machine & you held them in check. Maine's offense will be national championship caliber over the next couple of seasons.

Your offense is terrible. Opponents have been lighting up Maine's secondary. While our D-line is pretty sturdy up front, we can be burned on big plays.....I really felt comfortable that Albany wasn't up to the task in that regard. Good luck the rest of the way & get a couple of upset wins!

Hate to be repetitive but OC is awful and Brunson ain't the answer. Low grade offense with solid D make for a Patsos like season.

Is it the playcalling, the lack of playmakers, or both? The players still have to execute the plays. Good teams execute simple plays well.

Brunson has two decent games. Regressed back to garbage... Can't make simple throws, doesn't help he's rushed all game.
