  1. For Beijing he'll need to show hes capable of tappin 1.44 and possibly below. The U.S. in the past 5 or so Olympics hasn't sent a team of 3 that hasn't been that low or better. The 'A' Standard just to qualify for the Olympic Trials in the U.S.A. was 1.46.40.
  2. That time isn't going to be the fastest he puts up this season. It's early February, hes not going to peak for a a few weeks yet...such as IC4A's or that USATF meet...so 1.49.50 won't be the fastest he goes.
  3. Dane Man, Name one major school without an indoor facility? By major, I mean any school with a student count of over 15000.
  4. nah, Jhow isn't Brandon Howlett, I know for a fact he wouldn't waste his time on these boards. He's a busy grad-student and co-captain who doesn't have time for this argument. Hes busy getting ready to bring home the shotput title in a week and a half, you should road trip it to Boston and cheer him on. Word has it hes going over 52 feet from what I hear through my sources. I also heard something about a 1-2-3-4 sweep in the hurdles AND the triple jump. Not to mention something like 6-7 guys over 21 feet and 3 over 22 in long jump? ...at least thats what I heard.
  5. Someone stated we don't come to this site enough to post, or explain whats going on as far as our team's concerned...so i'll let you know whats going on. Just this past weekend a kid on our team ran the 5th fastest time in the NATION in the 800 meters...and qualified for the USA national championships. - for all not familiar, thats twice around an outdoor track, and 4 times around an indoor track, at close to an all out sprint. Also the equivalent to around 18 miles an hour...think about how fast that is next time you're on a treadmill in the RACC cruising along at 6 miles an hour. I understand where a lot of people are coming from as far as track not getting publicity or "love" it deserves because of its lack of home meets, lack of fan turnout, and basic lack of popularity as far as the USA is concerned. I mean cmon, it takes a sick individual to enjoy running as hard and as far as humanly possible for fun, or to lift weights and train each and every day so at the end of the week all your hard work can be shown by throwing a 16 pound metal ball farther then the next guy. In every other sport running is considered punishment for things like a poorly executed offense or for not running out a pop-fly. Track is a sport that can only be understood if you experience it for yourself, or sit down with someone who runs and have a conversation with them. Feb. 18th and 19th are the Conference Championships where the Men go for their 3rd straight title, and the women are in prime position to steal their first. There are U-Albany buses going down to Boston to watch this meet on the 19th. All UA fans should go and support both teams, I can get you the info on the buses if you want, just reply to the post.
