Colin Griffith Memorial Hockey Game

Recommended Posts

The UA club hockey team is going to be hosting the Colin Griffith Memorial Hockey Game on February 23 at the Albany Academy Field House on Hacket Blvd. Some of you may remember hearing about Colin when he died tragically while studying abroad in England during the fall of 2005. This will be the last year the Danes will be holding this event, as the remaining team members which Colin played with will be graduating this spring. All proceeds from the game will be going towards a scholarship which will be awarded to a graduating senior from Lasalle Institue.

This game will also be the first round of the Metropolitan Collegiate Hockey Conference playoffs, with UAlbany going in as the number 1 seed against a yet to be determined opponent. Game time is 6pm. Colin's family, friends, teammates and the rest of the UA hockey team would love to have you there next Saturday. More info on the event can be found here: Colin Griffith Memorial Hockey Game

One last reminder....come out and support a great cause tomorrow night!!! Game time is 6pm.

Congratulations to the UAlbany Club Hockey team for their 4-2 win over Southern Connecticut in the first round of the playoffs. It seemed like a good crowd but I was disappointed not to see at least a few of my fellow RACC regulars come out to support this special occasion.

I thought it was a pretty good crowd as well. There were a lot more people there than there is for your typical game...I would guess around 300-400???Thats not too bad considering most people don't even know that Albany has a hockey team, let alone a had a game saturday night. Its usually mostly friends and family that go to the games...and I'm sure there were only a handful of people on here who read this thread and took it seriously.
