David Nichols

Recommended Posts

Based on what I saw last year in the pregame, the post season, and what Will Brown said on the radio, I'm excited to see what he can do this year.

Last year there was a video floating around of his dunk contest with Kyle McKinley. I've been looking all over for it, but I can't seem to find it. Anyone have a link to it somewhere?

Nichols making up for lost time

TU+ story

After last Friday's annual Purple and Gold scrimmage at SEFCU Arena, Nichols said fans came up to him and said they did not recognize him from a year ago. He liked that. It shows that the work he put in over the summer is paying off.
Last year, he said he could bench press 250 pounds. He is up to 275 now. He weighed 180 pounds when he was a freshman. A year later he is a bulkier 190.
"I have a heavier weight, but I have more muscle," Nichols said. "I am quicker at 190 ... if that makes any sense."
Nichols' roommate is Cremo, who spends just about every waking moment he has in the gym. Nichols has just followed Cremo's lead. "I think Joe has rubbed off on David," Brown said.
"He just keeps working his tail off," Cremo said. "He is one of the hardest-working guys I know and he deserves everything he is getting right now. He should have a really good season and help us win a lot of games."
It would seem likely that Nichols will be the starting point guard when the Danes open the season at Penn State on Nov. 11. Brown isn't so sure.
But that should not alarm Nichols, who doesn't plan on sitting a whole lot this year. "I don't know if he will be the starting point guard, but he will start," Brown said

Sounds like they are flirting with the idea of playing Nichols off the ball. After seeing him (and Grayson) in the P+G game I like the idea. Let Grayson handle the ball and run the offense and let Nichols score and Cremo do, like everything in the world.
