  • 3 weeks later...

I was there with a few familiar faces from my section (don't know if they are members here). They ran out of food with about 30 people still in line from what I understand (I was told by another person in line so I just grabbed a piece of cake instead and a bottle of water)...so turnout was good. I did forget to RSVP (oops), so wondering if maybe a bunch of other people did lol.

Each coach introduced themselves (particularly Coach Mac since she's new), their staff and a handful of their players (about 5 guys and 5 ladies showed up). Then they had a Q&A where Charlie V. walked around with a mic and people asked questions like why we scheduled Oneonta again, how they see their style changing with the new players (WB losing the guys we lost, etc.). No crazy earth shattering proclamations or quips...it just a standard session so to speak.

Ticket package is nicer, following suit with how they did FB. Tickets are high quality in the same style as football with each player shown on each of the tickets (game 1 is player A, game 2 another, etc.).

Brown did mention we scrimmaged a team a week or two ago which was in the dance...but didn't say the conference or team name...anyone know who we played? Why do coaches hide the scrimmage info? Is it due to some stupid NCAA rule?

So it was YOUR fault I didn't even get any water

Actually there wasn't beer and wine as advertised either, so this was a major screwup on logistics. Sodhexo, probably. The Browns used to use a deli in Halfmoon for this event and they never ran out of food, but it was out of their hands this year.

Last week's scrimmage was Buffalo. bosiydid said on the AE forum we had a comfortable win.

Yes, it's an NCAA rule that you can't disclose anything about closed scrimmages, even technically who they're against. I think it's because exhibitions count against the number of competitions you can play, but scrimmages count against practices.

This week we're scrimmaging at UMass, as the Browns Sr. said they couldn't make our football tailgate.

Coach Mac stated that the women's practices are open - usually M-F 12:30-2:30 in the SEFCU gym. One should call her office to check for changes. This Sunday's women's exhibition game against New Paltz is open to the public too.
