Never really checked but you can watch the post game interviews with Rodger on ESPN3 ..they kept the feed going at the end of the game. You can just go on and fast fwd to end.

Will mentioned the bench is not embracing the scouting reports.

The defense on both teams looked much stronger; yet, UA scored 57 points in the second half.

David and Joe both erupted IIRC. They each had like 10 points in the first half or at least it felt like it (that they were quiet) and ended up with huge numbers. Carried us to the win they did.

Columbia did a great job of collapsing hard on Charles. He only took 8 shots. Made 5. Cremo and Nichols made them pay for their focus on Charles. Awesome win. Fun game to watch other than the bad stretch early in the second half and the poor officiating.

When you play against a Jim Engles coached team, it's going to be a knife-fight. It was when he was at NJIT and it is at Columbia.

I'm still not sure if I should be concerned that we were down 10 at home to Columbia or impressed that we erased the 10 point deficit in 3 minutes.

As much as there are complaints about the officiating, UA had a decided advantage at the line. Columbia in no way looked like a 1-5 team. They had talented bigs and Smith went toe-to-toe with Nichols. He’s an impressive young player. Stire and Foster stayed out of foul trouble and the team’s upperclassmen took over in crunch time. It’s what you want and it’s what we got. W. On to Bryant. WB again said that he’s the unhappiest 8-1 coach in the country and has a fast hook for the bench guys.

According to the school, that's our highest amount for a half in D1 history.

"UAlbany scored 57 points in the second period, the highest-scoring half in the programs Division I history. Previously, the record was 56 points in the first half vs. Green Mountain in 2000."

Bitching about the refs when the team looked like they were horizontal at the morgue 4/5ths of the game is ridiculous. I think this team is tired and sick but luckily, got enough energy to pull it out late. Cremo's D was awful, How many put backs did his man get and what, twice in a short time he fouled to give them a 3 point play? That, to me is indicative of playing through illness. I bet Stire has had a bug for the past 3 games. He just hasn't had the ups he did to start the season. I think the difference with this team is we have enough O weapons to overcome these challenges.

I'm glad we don't have to play Columbia again this season (except maybe in the NCAA's).

I agree with you posters who say the team may be battling a lot of illness and fatigue. This team has played nine games in about three weeks of time. It has been a brutal schedule, despite what others on the AE forum may think of our schedule.

"As much as there are complaints about the officiating, UA had a decided advantage at the line"

If all the fouls were called that should have been called, we would have won handily; double digits easily. The complaining is about the obvious bias officiating going on. I do not know if the officials were making calls against us because of Will's complaining. But in my opinion Will's "T" was absolutely justified. Bad officiating usually goes both ways and it is a shame how it effects a game; but this crew was blatantly making calls against UA entirely. We had a decided advantage at the line because columbia is either really BAD defensively or they just do not care how many guys they foul out. This decided advantage that you speak of was only about 10/11attempts, which is actually pretty normal for a team that plays inside out vs a team that is predominantly 3 oriented. One of UA's game goals is to make more free throws than their opponent attempts. The fact that we accomplished this yesterday was due to our play, not to "FAIR" officiating. The officials yesterday were plain BAD and mostly bad one way.

I hate blaming officials... For the record, yes they missed some calls but I don't believe it was worthy of all the complaining here. This team can't stop a nose bleed... If they want to compete with uvm. They better start playing some defense. Over and over they got beat from all over the court, deep, drives to the basket, inside... This team right now is not good enough on D.

Blame officials all you want, how many times was someone not blocked out for an easy put back? Not good enough!

This. I generally don't get on refs (at least not seriously) if they call it close...its when they call it close only one end. I hate that $iena. Be consistent or don't call it at all, that's what I ask. I can deal with the rest. The bias was strong last night, but pretty much only for that one bald white ref. Dude was mental.

One guy courtside (actually, behind Roger) was really letting the ref have it...I thought he was going to get thrown out.

You can't use fouls advantage because the teams play different styles. Albany tries to get to the rim and force contact and fouls.

Re. The guy getting on the refs at the media table, you can hear part of it on the ESPN broadcast. I heard him say something to the effect of you will never work in this town again. It was funny.

Brown rarely gets Ts. You know it's bad when that happens.
