They aren't going to get better if they don't play. Let them work it out. Should've played them more in OOC instead of now.

Hindsight is 20-20. We were kicking ass in out of conference so we thought we were running on all cylinders. It wasn't till we went into conference and the wheels fell off but now we're wishing oh yeah maybe we should have played the bench more during non-conference. But if we're winning those non-conference games do we really want to bring in the bench and possibly lose. I don't have the answers just seems more complicated than looking back and saying what we should have done.

I'm just glad we're seeing some changes this game and if we still lose at least we can say that we've changed it up.

David and Devonte have been sitting a while. Xavier and Costa getting their mins.

Devonte had two fouls...which really hurt. The second one was a weak call.

Nichols is either hurt (the wrist) and can't go...or just not executing. I have to think it is the former.

Hindsight is 50-50. We were kicking ass in out of conference so we thought we were running on all cylinders. It wasn't till we went into conference and the wheels fell off but now we're wishing oh yeah maybe we should have played the bench more during non-conference. Unfortunately, I think the staff ultimately prioritized winning OOC games instead of developing team cohesion/chemistry throughout the whole roster and risking going 4-12 in OOC (or whatever). Now we're asking kids to step up when they've barely played all year or if they have played it's been spot duty due to our limited rotation. It is what it is. Brown is learning on the fly just like the players...sometimes you get a good group, sometimes you don't. Sometimes no matter what you do it's how the cookie crumbles. No one, not even Brown, foresaw Nichols being so bad this year. You can't pin that on Brown.

I'm not mad at Brown or even that upset anymore of how he uses the roster. Regardless of the bench development, our stars aren't stars right now. That's the bigger issue. And the other guys just aren't as engaged as we were last year. It is what it is. Pretty sure Brown has adjusted and re-adjusted and implored these guys to be better...they just can't.

This is on the players.

But you totally know that if they tried to do "cohesion" and play all the players and we were losing ooc games..the board would then probably say why are we playing these players ... we should be playing our stars. ?

But definitely agree no one could have foreseen David going this far backwards.

I'm sure how much of it is hindsight. Lots of us, including Coach Brown, said the bench did not play enough. Would rather have seen them play then and lose some more games than need them now and they are not ready.
