Fairfield 12/22/14

No game notes for this one yet.

Stags are 4-6 and their schedule looks similar to ours. We both lost close games to Bucknell. We both played Q tight, we lost by 3, they beat them in OT.

Hopefully there is no hangover from the big Yale win and we can take another step forward. I think a win over the Stags would put us in second place in the MAAC also.

Behind which other team playing multiple games vs the lowly maac :)

while the record isn't where anyone wants it to be, having 9 new kids playing does need time...."hopefully" we are starting to see TIME beginning to pay off!!!

Honestly, I think this is what we're seeing. It's like when my Miami Heat put together the big 3 and went 9-8 the first month or so of the season. People said they were a HUGE disappointment. And then 2 years later they won 27 games straight, getting the best from everyone, every night (opponents). It's all about building chemistry with your teammates, etc.

Definitely takes time. Especially now since the kids are traveling less and have more time at 'home' and for practice...not surprised to see them start to make a turnaround. We all, me included, sometimes forget those little details during losing streaks...

Looks like Key to stopping Fairfield is to smother Jr. Marcus Gilbert #14 - will shoot from anywhere and gets to the FT line a lot. A couple of big guys who split time and block a lot of shots. Doesn't look like they score much though. All the guards will launch the 3 ball. Recent close wins at Quin and over Manhattan puts them right in our wheelhouse. Last game loss at Belmont - no shame there as Belmont = 94 RPI. Should be a good game.

According to KenPom their offense is very very poor, one of the worst in the country. Our defense isn't so hot so hopefully we can win this battle of weaknesses.

Don't really care for this energy out of UA... Seems a bit like they are coasting. Fairfield isn't very good... Would like to see UA assert themselves in the second half. More than half of Fairfields points are from three. Hopefully we play with a little more urgency in the second half especially on defense fighting over screens or getting up on the shooters.
