This was a rendering developed early on for the Athletics fitness center that will be in the renovated PE Bldg, not SEFCU Core. The final design for PE will have a similar look and feel.
Completing the PE Renovation is key before any further additions to Broadview will be considered. Having capital dollars in the bank is always the key to these types of projects.
The main competition court is “new” with new maple boards now running east-west length wise and inlaid into the existing floor. The rest of the floor is still the former court with boards running north-south as before. The entire floor surface was sanded and refinished with new line work. When you get a closer look at it, you can see what I mean.
The PE Project involves three parts...
Enabling - moving portions of the occupants and functions out of PE and into temp facilities (SEFCU/Broadview being one location)
Phase 01 is the reno of the Basement and First Floor Levels.
Phase 02 is the reno of the remainder of the PE Building.
Things may change somewhat depending on the timing and funding, but expect the work to go on for several years.
This is what it looks like as of this afternoon...
The old floor has been cut out, conduits being removed from the slab, and the new flooring sits on palettes getting acclimated to the space before install.
That's not the floor for the PE Gym. The Gym will be getting an Omnisport series multi-sport floor system with a resilient surface. The photo above is a panelized temporary basketball court system.
