I just got in and caught the last few minutes on the Dane Zone, what the heck happened with Giff? He got T'ed up?

Anyone have 2 extras for the BPG? I am ticketless as of now.

Flush Hard!

It's a long way to Loudonville!

There really should've been double technicals instead of just on Giff. That was bogus. The Maine player put a an elbow into Giff's chest and shoved him while they were getting up. Giff shoved back and got the technical. Bunch of crap. Once again though the overall officiating looked horrible to me.

Let's hope they get their act together for UMBC. That is now a very big game.

By the way, the Dane Zone was almost perfect tonight. Not one freeze up for me.

Before I read anything, anyone else might have said....we deserved EVERY BIT OF THAT LOSS. You can claim the refs gave Maine the game or that Giff was jobbed etc.........the fact is. The team came out flat, played like Main (1-4 coming in) was gonna just roll over, and then couldn't regroup when they realized Maine came to play. Coach Brown has on numerous occasions said that this team is mentally/physiologically weak. There was no better indication of that then today.....even after the technical on Giff....4 FT's and a 3 by Sacoby (sp?) there was no excuse for losing our composure like we did. A 7 point swing to get the game down to 5 but still.......we have 3 seniors on the floor with the home crowd behind them and WE handed them the game.

Maine made their shots....we couldn't throw the ball in the ocean shooting 23% from 3. But again....it all comes back to effort. When Maine went up by 5 at the half I turned to a guy sitting by me and said.....this isn't good.....YOU DO NOT LET A TEAM LIKE MAINE HANG AROUND AND GET CONFIDENCE. And thats exactly what we did. Brent, once again a NO SHOW! I'm sorry but more stability and consistency is required of a senior who's been through the wars.

Now....on to UMBC and hopefully we've learned a lesson. There have been allot of lessons to learn this season.

For the positives.....

- However brief it was it was awesome to see Josh in the game. He brought the ball a couple of times up and you could see the skill with the ball. Handles the pressure exponentially better then anyone else we have. Hope he has a great week of practice and gets his wind back.

- Timmy had himself a great game today. I really though he was working hard on defense today, better then I've ever seen him. Picked his spots to put the ball up for the most part....dribbled himself into a couple of TO's but thats OK. Great effort by him!

Thats it!

Gifford's Got Gonads! (Yes, a little immature, and it was a significant momentum swing, but I loved that he showed that energy.)

Timmy played well, Martin got some work in on his knee, and there was a nice deep rotation of players.

Other than that I will hold my tongue.

I thought it was Owes who was involved in the thing with Giff but I could be wrong. Reminded me of the Justin (Jason?) Rowe of Maine vs. Chris Wyatt battle of a few years ago although we ended up with on the better end on that day.

I'm still not sure how we get a terrific game out of Connelly and a surprisingly good show from Ambrose and still lose this game. As we've seen all year we have no margin for error and the letdown after the Giff tech showed it again tonight. It's a shame because Giff has been playing well lately, hopefully he's able to shake this off and move on.

Nice arm by GDG tonight with those t-shirts.

I didn't realize Connelly didn't have any rebounds. Of course it didn't seem like there were many Maine shots that missed to rebound but that's another problem.

Sounds like it's going to be a tough week at practice:

Brent, once again a NO SHOW! I'm sorry but more stability and consistency is required of a senior who's been through the wars.

I haven't checked the stats on this but I've watched almost every home game on the DaneZone and have been to three road games. It really seems to me that when Brent scores 10+ and is involved we win and when he is off we lose. I know it is not that simple but that is just something I noticed. Not sure if the stats are on my side or not.

Still upset though about the game last night. For those at the game, it seemed like the crowd was quiet for most of the game. Was this the case?

During the first half there really was nothing to cheer for....we came out flat and allowed Maine to shoot 71% from the field. What are people supposed to cheer for?

Some interesting stats....

Maine came into the game shooting (in conference) 33% from three and 61% from the line

Last night they shot 67% from three and 86% from the line.

How about Junior Bernal entered the game shooting 6 of 20 from the foul line and he shot 8 of 10 against us.

I guess our lack of intensity at times puts teams in a nice relaxed comfort zone.
