Kevin Broadus is a Moron

Recommended Posts

So Broadus had an interview with Andy Katz going over the addition of his JUCO transfers (there's a link off America Least) He ended the interview with this statement

"Hopefully this new talent gets to the upper echelon with BU, Hartford and UMBC," Broadus said.

Umm...can you say bulletin board material for Vermont and UA?

There is allot in that article that is just downright disrespectful, shameless and classless. No doubt that he is the stinky armpit of the AE coaches. I haven't always agreed with ALeast but his commentary on the Katz article is spot on.

If I was a Bingo fan I'd be ashamed of him....at least Walker had class!

Y'all know I am not a huge Walker fan however, I have a complete new found respect for the man; Tough business but he was pretty classy at Binghamton. I have to think Thayer is scratching his head about now.

To think that Broadus had a lot to say about Will Brown's disrespect for one of Bing U's players (and Brown limited his comments to the kid's playing ability), and now Broadus makes his comments. At least Brown never shoved anyone, but Bing U players certainly had a lot to say about Brown's lack of respect for them. What hypocrisy!

It's very obvious that he's TRYING to catch lightning in a bottle and make a run for a bigger job as soon as he can. Bingo fans shouldn't kid themselves, he's not out to build a program. All coaches in the lower conferences are looking to move up to get better pay etc. but there is a right way to do it and the KB way of doing it.

Admit it, you are coming around to my way of thinking!

Consider the source, but maybe Broadus is taking these guys one because it took him 7 years to graduate from college, at least that is what wikipedia says.

"Broadus began playing collegiately at Grambling State University, but transferred after his first season to Bowie State University. He played for Bowie State from 1983 to 1986, earning conference all-rookie honors in the 1984 season, and leading his team in scoring as a captain during his senior year. Broadus graduated from Bowie State in 1990 with a degree in business administration, and then began his coaching career at his alma mater, serving as an assistant coach for three seasons."

Things could have happened between then (like kids maybe...he has four, one 23, the others 14,13 and 11...he is 44), but perhaps the taking a long time to get his degree is where the mentality of taking on basketball vagabonds comes from. Who knows. I just don't see it ending well.

Personally, I liken it to the following exchange from the American classic film, Tommy Boy:

Tommy: Did you hear I finally graduated?

Richard Hayden: Yeah, and just a shade under a decade too, all right.

Tommy: You know a lot of people go to college for seven years.

Richard Hayden: I know, they're called doctors.

You've been alright lately.....I'm not sure you can keep up this "streak of success" but you are on a good roll. I'll probably be alright with you until you call our coach a "Stony Brook bag" (most likely after we sweep you again).....then it'll be ON again.

I kid....I kid!

Cheers

Maybe americaleast finally figured out who a real Stony Brook bag coach is. After Broadus performance last spring it should be obvious.

I suspect that when Broadus is on his way out, it'll be down not up.
