FYI: I just got off the phone with someone in UA Athletics and he told me an e-mail is going out later today that cancels the draconian clear bag policy!!!!

Score one for the little people...now onto stadium seats!

Haha wow very surprised. They actually listened to others in the community and school.

So the portable seats, can we being those in again since it was the bag policy that indicated we couldn't bring in seats?

Hmm thought this was all UPDs doing. (Snark face)

I don't want to say I told y'all so ------ but I did :ph34r::ph34r:

this makes so much damn sense it's kinda annoying they didn't come up with it originally.

Again because the stadium bag policy was made up because of wanting to rent seats to people. There was no thought on it because it was to cover themselves for telling you not to bring a seat in..again UPD just randomly said oh yeah, nevermind people are safe... happy with the outcome but sad it even happened. Sad they blamed entire thing on UPD.

Going back to our meeting with VC3, he told us the seats were banned from day one at Casey but it was not enforced. The seat ban was in place the week before the bag policy was announced. I asked VC3 for a copy of the policy and he said he would get it to me. Still have not received it. Perhaps another email is in order.

New policy for Casey Stadium arrived with Football Season ticket information. Glad they fixed this, but it just shows how arbitrary and nonsensical their original "ban" of items was. We all know they made things up and blamed UPD, this just confirms it. Guess they did a psychology study of the fans and decided we weren't likely to throw our chairs and cushions on the field. :rolleyes:

How do you know that they didn't "convince" UPD to allow them? No saying they did or didn't, just wondering how you know.

Glad someone pointed this out because I never flipped that page over to see what was on the other side....LOL. I don't really care who did what, but glad we can bring the comfy seats back in. At game # 1 I was specifically

told by a member of the AD that it was an AD member who instituted the ban. So that's what I've gone with. Better half is pleased about the purse ban being lifted.

Because multiple non atheltic university staff said it wasn't UPD. Athletics lied about a lot of the policy including that B&N sold the seats and never Athletics, etc. Whole thing was disheartening. At least it is fixed now. Edited by MRSGDG

You and I can get back to enjoying some football...then again, we might no longer have anything to talk about hahaha.

Glad the school came to their senses. Looks like the end of year survey might have did it's job. Good work community!

Not to kick a dead horse; but there was a lot of griping at the meet and greet about parking issues and the use of Casey and Sefcu lot. Some GDAC members were questioning why they had to pay for parking for Soccer and Lacrosse, when it was free for football & basketball. Some even mentioned not buying soccer season tickets, even though they had in the past.

Also, issues with "reserved" seating @ Casey for soccer and lacrosse were discussed. The issue: season ticket holders for those sports are given seats in the first row; & told that it does not matter that these are the worst seats in the stadium, because seating is NOT reserved for those sports. Then day of the game they sell seats as if they are reserved. I know this seems like a trivial issue, but I witnessed near fights more than once @ lacrosse especially late in the year when UA made its ncaa run, over fans being in the wrong seats. I am told (i do not attend soccer) this has happened there also.

The problem also occurs @ Sefcu to a point. I have two isle gold aisle seats and for "big" games have purchased extra seats in the the section (not "reserved") immediately across from me to be near my extra guests; only to be told that section are unassigned seating, even though the tickets are marked specific. I have witnessed this issued at other arenas also, where they are vague about seating. In the ncaa lacrosse quarter finals @ Delaware last spring there were numerous near brawls over questionable seating rules.

Anyhow, the issue is/should be easily resolved by making it KNOWN that all seats are reserved {or not} and if reserved assign season ticket holders accordingly or let them choose their own seats. A little COMMUNICATION is really all that is required.
