The announcers said they were driving from Maine to Binghamton.. and they would go through Albany... I wonder if they stay a night in Albany or just go straight to Bingo. That would be a crap drive..ugh.

Brown stated they will sleep in their own beds tonight . Then leave Sunday after practice .

CB on postgame.. Foster hurt himself in the first half.

At the first half 4:28 mark Foster was fouled and pulled down under the basket. He got up a little gimpy, walked to the basket for his FT attemps, ran to the next play, whistle and then left the court limping a little...laid down on he sideline w/ team Dr, and you can see him doing stretches w/o the team Dr in the background the next minute... he never came back after that.

Hopefully it was a precaution since we clearly had the game in hand..no need to push him.

Poor 2nd half (understatement) different line ups seemedto put everyone out of sync (usually happens when your up almost 40 at half).

2nd half saw terrible court balance allowing Maine to get out in transition more (again could have been caused by mix and match lineups or just a little loss of urgency)

Nichols picked a good time to have a poor half (LOL) and Joe didn't seem to engaged either in the 2nd half.

A road win is a road win, take it and move on.

35-44 FTs on the road at least shows a better commitment to attack.

I guess I'm stupid then . Haha . Because if your referring to albany playing well in the first half I agree they did . But Maine would lose to half of the D2 teams .

But to claim that all of us were wrong that Albany does not have some deficiencies may want to watch the second half .

I think Click was referring to us being so upset after the first two games. This team will be fine. Can't win em all.

That being said, I just got done watching most of the game (I admittedly skipped around when it was a 40pt lead).

It's disappointing that our bench couldn't even remotely maintain the lead the main guys built but it is what it is. We crushed em for the most part and that's great to see.

It's also disappointing that David was 2-10 again...hopefully he breaks out of his funk. We'll need him later in the year to shoot around 50%, not 20%. Then again, the whole team was sub-40% so it was probably just the long drive.

Things that jump out from the stats:

-- We've seen an uptick in our ability to block shots the last 3-4 games

-- We continue to win the battle of the boards pretty much game in/game out

-- Like rebounding, we generally out attempt the other teams the line and thus have a nice balance of inside/out game play

Clark with a nice game today. Don't see many guys score 15 points while only taking 4 shots from the field.

Watching today I was thinking about the difference we've had in recruiting JUCO guards and recruiting JUCO big guys.

We've had terrific juco guards come through Albany - Singletary, Siggers, Gary Johnson, DJ Evans, etc, etc. JUCO big guys have been another story. Granted, it's comparing apples and oranges but I was trying to think of a JUCO front court player who's had the biggest impact.

Conspiracy Theory for the day, based on a comment I heard in the ESPN3 broadcast of this game...

Something was wrong with one of the baskets in the Arena. Maine couldn't buy a bucket in the first half. Easy shots bouncing out. Balls going in and out. In the second half, when UA was shooting at that basket, they started missing shots that should have gone in. It was strange.People have been commenting on the other board on how much better of a second half team Maine has been this season, especially at home.

Maybe it is the New England tradition of cheating and deflategate catching up to them? UA just got out to too big of a first half lead for Maine to come back in the second half?

No doubt about that.

I was thinking of it for next year and the amount of front court minutes that are going to open up with Stire, Charles and Foster graduating. We haven't had many JUCO bigs come in with an impact right away compared to guards.

A lot of that has to do with mid major programs. There's a lot less of a gap between guards at mids and guards at high majors. The real gap is with the bigs. At mids you either get a big with high major length that isn't as skilled or a big that is skilled but undersized.

So you look at a scenario where the pool to get players from is already slimmer with the big boys grabbing almost every big time JUCO big and then factor in you're getting a player who may be a bit of a project plus minimal time in the program.

I like it.

Down with the Pats! Hope Jacksonville crushes them!

Haters gonna hate. Doesn't change that pesky reality though.

Go Patriots.

That reality that cheaters sometimes win, and get away with it? Get to bring home the cheerleader or model and people forget about the cheating in time? I mean it's not like they bugged opponents practices, or tried to steal signs, or do any little thing they could to get an advantage. Edited by godanesgo99
