This stuff is on the coaches. The inability to handle pressure defense from a peer team is a consistent problem for Brown. The consistently poor screen communication and reaction. This is not this years team problem, it's most years team problem. That makes this a coaching issue. An issue that should be worked out in OOC games.

This. I'm no coach, and I never played organized ball, but I've watched a TON of NBA and college hoops since I started following the sport 20 years ago and we have SYSTEM issue...particularly when it comes to the screen on defense as I've mentioned a few weeks ago. Our REFUSAL to go over the screen is insane. It's mind boggling. I know some people on here know Brown personally...CAN YOU FREAKIN TELL HIM TO GET HIS HEAD UNSTUCK FROM THAT DARK PLACE ITS IN!? Hate to be so forward/blunt/dramatic...but it's ridiculous and it literally, as far as sports goes, pisses me right the hell off. To be 'equal opportunity', the same can be said for Gattuso and his staff in terms of passes to the middle of the field (slants, etc.)

Then you add in our yearly issue of breaking pressure and dealing with the zone (any coach studying film should just deploy a 1-3-1 against us and we'll get blown out nightly).

What a joke. We laugh at $iena fan loosing their minds in their loses...these last two are arguably as bad as anything they've had this year. Just 5 guys throwing a ball around with no direction.

21-0 run is inexcusable on any level.

They had one time out left. Should have used it right when Enemma got the steal, but instead he let Cremo dribble for 25 seconds and then drive to the basket wildly and travel.

I disagree. I think it was a 3 on 2 on that turnover and we should have attacked the basket. At least try and get a call and let THAT stop the clock, not a time out.

The stats for the year after yet another debacle in the AE. Unbelievable.

Once again the trend holds true at least from my observation. If we don't outrebound AND out FT an opponent, we lose. If we do one or the other, we lose. If we do both, we win. We take 14 less FT's in L's compared to W's. We average 11 less RB's in L's than W's.

TO's just add insult to injury and at the end there it was almost like the Space Jam Monstars came and stole our players games...balls going through legs. Bounce passes being too far from players. Basics. And we sucked at em. Literally looked like talentless Patrick Ewing, Mugsy Bogues, Larry Johnson, Shawn Bradley and Charles Barkley.

Ugh. Someone end this AE nightmare.

Hopefully the announcers were right (btw, that one guy - the main guy - was a screamer...shut up dude)...and that this will be a turning point for the team. Can't get worse defensively, so maybe 2-3 bad losses will have them licking their wounds, call a players meeting and then turning a page and becoming a great team and making a run. Otherwise, if we play defense like this all year, we'll be lucky to win the first round game in the AE tournament. UNH all over again.

People, forget about the turnovers, rebounding, shooting or any other bs. This team plays absolute zero defense... ZERO. The only team worse then us on defense in conference is Hartford and that program is a complete joke, like D2 type of joke who's coach won't survive this year.

This team is embarrassing... You don't defend? Good luck winning... Look at the defensive efficiency numbers...scratch that, Hartford game ended and stats updated. We are the worst defensive team in conference play through 2 games. That won't change... Expect 14 wins or around there . they gave up 25pts in 5 minutes.

DISGRACE.. As this year goes on they get worse.

The ONLY positive from the two AE games is that our offense is firing. Our %'s across the board are GREAT. However, our defense is absolutely $iena.

Just got home from game as well

. End of the game offense wasn't firing either. Couldn't pass and too much individual, not enough team work. On to the next game

Looked it up...last time UA had a defense remotely this bad their in conference DEf # were 107.1 in 2010, that team finished with 7 wins, This year the in conference DEf# are 121...yikes...only saving grace is that we are statistically much better on offense. If that defense doesn't start to click it's lights out folks. These are historically bad numbers for this program...historically bad. Nothing ever approached these numbers. Last three years the defensive efficieny numbers were 94, 92 and 99. 100 is identified as the D1 average so anything below is better then average. Anything above 100 is worse than the average. So yeah...umm...121 is like a train wreck.

I'm not sure the offense had much of a chance. We turned the ball over before we got shots. The few times we did have the ball, we panicked.

This team is learning lessons the hard way this year. Playing the full 40 minutes is one of them. Having a backup PG would be another.

We have a 20 win offense and a 10 win defense.

Isn't part of offense passing the ball properly to get a shot.

If you are curious by the numbers, what defensive area's are of concern.

Albany is ranked 319 in the country defending the 2pt shot, teams are shooting 54.9% against us...this is a shocking number.

Albany is ranked 342 in the country blocking shots

Albany is ranked 319 in the country on steals so we don't turn anyone over. That's dead...give up that high a % on 2's and never turn anyone over, that's horrible.

Surprisingly, ranked 207 defending the 3. I thought it was worse.

Now that I've had about 15 hours to reflect on this and reconsider my earlier comments, I've come to this conclusion: IT WAS BAD! WB said no one wanted to handle the ball in the last few minutes. That was apparent since the players were repeatedly tossing it out of bounds. 25-2 run.....25-2. 21 point lead coughed up like a hair ball in 6 minutes. This is a disaster and meltdown of epic proportions and it came against arguably our biggest rival. I can't make any sense out of it other than we have been watching a group of players masquerading as a team for the first 15 games or so.
