The smell of football is getting stronger.

Any chance we are going to get a football countdown clock, DP?

Only 2.5 weeks remain  :D

How about Tom Coughlin?  Can we lure him away from Jacksonville?

I'm all about growth and expansion.  Probably pretty clear to everyone.

The questions I think worth answering:

Where do we want to be in 10-20 years?

What is the game plan to get us there?

If we have aspirations to become nationally relevant, in all sports, I think complacency destroys all hopes.

I think we all agree, UAlbany needs to be in another conference (at some point), if we want it to happen.

I think we've hit the ceiling in basketball.... both mens and womens.  Which, arguably is the most relevant sport

in college athletics.   It's all about basketball and football, and of course, lacrosse :)

Do we DRESS FOR SUCCESS, or do we wait for someone or something to make it happen for us?

If we take every step possible to be attractive (one day) to a American Athletic Conference (for instance),

what are those steps?

Facilities upgrades?

Half step conference upgrades?

In terms of the CAA vs AE schools:

AE: Binghamton, Hartford, Lowell, Maine, Stony Brook, UNH, UMBC, Vermont

CAA: Charleston, Delaware, Drexel, Elon, Hofstra, James Madison, Northeastern, Towson, Wilmington, William & Mary

MAC:  Is this a conference where schools upgrade to, and eventually die off into mediocrity?  Probably.

Is the CAA an upgrade?

Name recognition &  affiliation plays a big role in how people judge our athletics program.

Of course, everything is easier said than done.

Putting aside all political grandstanding and/or posturing by ny state leadership,

UAlbany athletics has become 'a' if not 'the' dominant force of the America East.

Many UA fanatics sit and ponder the current existence of our athletics program.  Are we content

with staying in a conference like the America East?  It has served its purpose, there is no doubt in this.

What is our athletic department vision over the next 20 years?  What is Benson proposing?

Will there be any growth staying in the AE?  Where is the ceiling for UAlbany athletic success?  Have we hit it?

Do we try and raise the bar?

Many of us said early on.... all the University of Albany athletics needed was to be unleashed, and the beast

would emerge as a powerhouse.  All of this success because... all we did was enter D1 athletics.

Imagine if UAlbany athletics became a priority or even a thought by certain entities and/or individuals?

Connor - 117 points (55g 62a)

rambo - 86 points (42g 44a)

rambo in championship weekend, only 2g 2a with 4 turnovers

This performance should not give him any points towards the T award.

Connor should take it.

GAMEDAY!!!! How bad of a father would I be if I stayed home from son's baseball game to watch this?  kidding of course.  Phone will be shut off and game will be DVRed.  Expect some late posts from me after watching the game after it is over.

You can watch live from your phone on the watchespn app. Multitask!

That won't work.  Can't be watching the game while coaching third base. lol

Yep, you don't want any line drives down the line hitting you in the eggs

I knew the song was garbage from the get-go.  Didn't even listen to the lyrics.

Not sure I would have posted it if I had listened.

But it's Fields.  And UA lacrosse.

Again, Ierlan was 16/27 vs maryland.

maryland was only 13/25 on the faceoff vs bryant

Who's getting pumped?

We've won a couple of 1st round matchups in the 1st round of the ncaas....

but haven't won a quarter final yet.  This is the chance for the program to surpass

even what the Thompson era produced.  Too bad we didn't have the faceoff specialist we

needed back then.

The UA / maryland game probably should have been the championship game, but of course,

another selection committee laid an egg in their bracketing efforts.  Kind of knew they would, with

how their preliminary rankings/brackets looked.  They need to flush out that selection committee,

and replace all of them.

We are as good as anyone in the country.  We approach each game, one game at a time....

we might be surprised with our ultimate success.

Go Danes.

Haven't read any of the replies on the board yet but we played a hell of a first half. I think we let down and started playing a little clock ball instead of full out attacking. I would totally disagree with anything negative against ierlan. Let us not forget we defeated the defending national champions. We put a halt to their Surge and took over the last half of the fourth quarter. It's a good playoff lesson for next weekend

5,975 tickets sold as of noon today for UAlbany's NCAA Tournament game on Saturday. About 400 to go for a sellout.
If you are local the bookstore has purple waterproof PVC ponchos! Only a few left, was going to buy all of them and auction them off in the parking lot!

Did you attend UA's nationally ranked School of Business? 😆
