Times useless

I picked up the Times Union (for the 1st time in 5 or 6 weeks) to check out the local HS FB scores and I saw there was an article on Peter Hooley - it was a very non descript piece with little (new information) substance and probably very little research, and at the end there were a few blurbs about the scrimmage.

 

I guess there is no need for me to look at the "Times Useless" any more.

Wilkin has to do one article a month or so so that he can tell his employer he is still covering college bball. Regardless of the content.

 

Also looked like he showed up to the practice about 10mins before it ended. There's not a horse he isn't interested.

I wish coach could have just left it at "Mitch will be just fine" and leave it at that. I don't know how the interview went or what questions were asked, but why even bring up blogs and message boards. There was just no need. The team just won a tough game at home and you are answering questions about blogs and other teams coaches, wtf? Apparently to coach Brown, blog and message board posters have nothing better to do. Don't get me wrong, I think he is doing a good job this year, but that whole rant was unnecessary.

 

And no I am not offended... I just have nothing better to do so I decided to post this

I am glad Will does not read this blog, I would be disappointed and may be even a little embarrassed if he did read it. Bloggers are just arm chair quarterbacks who for years have been yelling and screaming at cathode ray tubes (pre plasma and lcd). Now we can vent and scream and yes make nonsense coaching opinions {more about how to coach and less about who should coach--I hope} and hear other arm chair qb's and their ideas. So coaches DO have better things to do than read our ramblings; but Wilkins and other writers better know, we are the ones buying newspapers (in print or online), buying sports magazines, watching ESPN etc (and buying/drinking the beer of the week or desiring the Lexus that drives itself so we can watch espn while we drive). We are the ones filling the stands and stadiums, and while the coaches need to be preparing their teams not reading our nonsense, writers have nothing better to do, or for that matter anything to do at all WITHOUT US.

People ripping the horse guy, Say it isn't so. The line in the article that made me laugh the most is

"If UAlbany beats Siena, it will be the third time a team from the America East has beaten the Saints this year. Vermont and Maine are the others. I don’t know if that has ever happened"

 

Isn't it his job to find that out and put it in one way or the other. I do know as recently as way back in 10-11 LCC was 0-2 vs the AE going into playing Maine. Maine failed to give them a perfect record vs AE LCC style, but came though this sunday. It is now up to UA to get them to their rightful 0-3. Maybe if we do, by the end of the game Saturday, Timmy could report if that is the first time or when the first time occured.

 

As far as coach saying things to the media, that is part of his job. Sure as a fan, I would prefer to have quotes expressing more of a desire to win this upcoming road game, but after all this years I expect to read the same downplaying of this game in the next few days. That plus the same crappy situation with seats and subsidizing LCC , I made other plans for Saturday.

Part of me wants to see siena upset Iona because that could possibly move UA up in seeding if they make the tourney. The other part of me wants to see an empty times Union center for the whole weekend when they lose tonight lol. It's really a win win here!

That is the correct option.

BTW after the iona's coaches comments , I am rooting for the longshot of niagara eliminating iona on Saturday for even more reasons .

Other than the chance mark s, the hack from the TU may try to come to the sefcu after LCC is elimnated there never is a downside to lcc losing
