2016-17 Men's Basketball Schedule

I'm assuming we have some more actual SEFCU games before Siena right? That can't possibly be our first home game, lol.

 

 

I hope it's not the first home game. With all of the changes announced so far: new traffic patterns on game day, video board on the scorers table, second big screen, etc. I hope they get a game or two under their belt to get the kinks out before a showcase event that will bring so many new people onto campus.

 

 

 

First home game , last home game or any home game in between I am not going to complain about finally playing them at home.

Plus got a chance to see $iena fans complaining about how weak their home schedule is . Just as I have said for years. That low level school cant replace Albany on their schedule. Albany should had refused to play them years ago if they wouldn't play a game at Albany's home.

 

 

So I'll assume their weak home schedule this coming season is because we're not playing them downtown. I agree, Bob, it's about time!

I thought last year was just an exception. Coach used to be a big advocate against non D1 games. I wonder what has happened.

Not sure what the significance of that is. Their schedule last year also called it an exhibition..but it wasn't listed as such for us. Exhibitions..at least for DIs..tend to be before the season starts. This would be our third game.

Why are we playing them again? That game is a joke. It was over as soon as the ball was tipped. Does the Oneonta coach really want his players to experience a 92-49 loss at the hands of UA every year or something? He got a hankerin for gettin beat like a red headed step child?

It's not an exhibition, more likely a breather game after two tough games to start the year. Still hate it, looks like this type of thing will be a staple.

My understanding -- and I could be wrong -- but the use of "exhibition" doesn't fit -- the game is "official" because it figures into the overall W-L record, but it is not a win that improves any RPI or other ranking, and it is not a win that the NCAA Tournament committee would consider (although they would consider a loss to a D-3 team!) . . . it is as Clickclack says a "breather," to work on plays and defenses, keep in game shape, give experience to the bottom 5 or so players and the like . . . at least, IT HAD BETTER TURN OUT TO BE FOR THOSE REASONS!!!

It's an exhibition for Oneonta. It doesn't count against their schedule, but would count towards UA.

It is listed before their regular games so could see that they call it an exhibition.

Moot point for Albany. Count it as a win as opposed to an exhibition but still Non d1 games don't count towards RPI and SOS.

Guess for some reason they need me to see this game as I missed it last year traveling down to Florida.

Well...looks like it'll be one of those games where I can have fun joking with the refs, etc. instead of actually yelling at them in an attempt to see if Albany can put up 60, 70, or 80 on them lol (CAN I GET A CALL REF! FREE THROWS!). Here's to another wood shed moment .

Is it a consolation that the women's team will only "slum down" to the D2 level???
