Simply amazing is all I'll say...now start moving dirt. Or at least start the design and engineering phases...

GO GREAT DANES!

Per the Office of Facilities Management Site Works, for several months the project has shown

Athletic Fields Repair / Improvement

Repair and upgrade track facility, relocate

football facility. Design to start summer

2010.

Athletics

Est. Start: Summer 2010

Est. End: Fall 2013

Dave LaComb 442-3400

But recently the following ominous note was added:

[July 2010 - Due to the late State budget and delayed funding, project dates shown herein may require amendment and will be updated in the coming weeks]

I'm thinking the first year will have only the lower deck, with the upper level and the press building completing 'Phase 1' in a following year.

I thought it was funny that Wyland had to mention that there would be toilets when it opened - unlike Fallon Field, I guess.

No, this isn't an NEC facility. CCSU supposedly has plans to double the size of Arute Field, but even that won't come close to this.

We will know in the coming weeks what we are getting. These things will be publicly bid. Even if we get the lower deck of 5,000 seats in Phase 1, with the upper deck and tower in Phase 2...with the locker rooms and academic building in Phase 3...I'd be happy.
