Reviving this thread, Michelle Grimm, professor from Michigan State, has been named Dean of the College of Engineering and Applied Science as of August 25. The building at Lake between Western and Washington is scheduled for occupancy in the fall of 2023

Amazing how long this project has taken.  Might sounds like a dumb question but would it have been cheaper to build from scratch instead of this long renovation?  Anyway glad it is being occupied.  What is the next big project for the university?  A new indoor track facility? HAHAHA

Is not investing a Pine Hills not just as important? I say it is and our university is likely to make additional investments in the Pine Hills.

Lastily:

Does not the Broadview Center have an Indoor Track?  As important, we do need an indoor practice facility that can accommodate Football, MSOC & WSOC, Field Hockey and MLAX & WLAX plus Softball and Baseball.  Yes, the need is great.

I have seen our teams practiced and play at such facilities at Purdue, Northwestern and Boston College.

If want our athletic programs to improve, we need to provide the practice facilities.  Broadview Center and Alumni Gym (for Volleyball) are great for viewing however are not practice facilities for all the sports that need such a facility.

I would agree investing in Pine Hills is important.  Even more now with Saint Rose closing.  I would be shocked if the state didn't buy some of the Saint Rose campus and use it for various programs at UAlbany.  I would love an indoor multi use facility.  Broadview had an indoor track but it is gone now.  Storage space and locker room facilities took up some of that space.
