Gerardo Suero- Pan Am Games

So last night, I got to see Juan Barea play for Puerto Rico. His team was awful, and he wasn't great...partially because he had garbage around him. He picked up a pretty tough knock to the thigh/knee, and was limping after the game.

 

Today, I get to see the one, the only Gerardo Suero. His team lost to Puerto Rico...so I am expecting it to be an ugly affair. I wish I had Albany gear with me on this work trip.

 

The U.S. team has some pretty good young guards Trimble (Maryland), Baker (Wichita), and Broogan (UVA), and a stud at SF in Valentine (Michigan State).

 

In other news, I saw Fran Fraschilla this morning at breakfast in the hotel. We started chatting, and Siena came up and he expressed wide-eyes when I told him we got them to come play at the SEFCU.

Suero apparently did pretty well in 3 pool games the Dom Rep went 1 & 2 - Suero avg 16.3 ppg while shooting 15 for 29 from the floor and 18 of 23 from the FT line.

It's occured to me many times what we would have had in 2013-13 had Suero stayed. We won 24 games that year without him and Aronhalt. Water under the bridge, I guess.

True. Who knows how things would have went. I thought he bought in a lot more at the end of his year here and hoped that would carry over.

Yeah true...we could have been better...or worse. It's okay, we did pretty well for ourselves with back to back to back titles lol.
