Bing beat Stony Brook today 6-5. UMBC beat both of them head-to-head, so we play SBU in the first round and UMBC-Bing the 2-3 game

unless

we lose to Hartford and UMBC loses to Vermont, then since Hartford beat UMBC somebody else can figure out the 3-way tie for the 3rd and 4th seeds.

Was a bit chippy. We were sending a message that UA not happy with last years defeat and they had nothing to play for after being eliminated.

One thing I noticed in our offense. We are deadly in the fast break. I think we scored every time. Our half court offense, if you will, is not as efficient with missed shots and turnovers. I say head for the goal every time and fire away. Coach Marr always gives them the green light anyway.

A little off topic; but does anyone know what's up with Patterson? Some suggested he may be hitting a freshman wall; I suggested Laffin should perhaps start &/or get more minutes. Now Patterson seems to not be be playing at all? I am not even sure he was on the sidelines yesterday? Anyone see him; maybe injured out of uniform?

Lot of big losses yesterday.

#3 Ohio State lost to #12 Rutgers in OT (Rutgers was smashed last week by Penn State)

#5 Maryland destroyed #8 JHU 12-5 (has to help us considering the head to head and this is basically a neutral game, in my opinion, for Hopkins; It was played at College Park).

#16 Towson beat #9 Hofstra 10-8

Checked the box score and didn't see his name. Wasn't at the game and didn't see #24 in any of the sideline shots so don't know what was going on.

He had disappeared the last few games so was surprised Laffin or someone else hadn't been given more playing time sooner, but hope Jakob is a OK because the Danes will need him down the home stretch.

Hard to say since DU jumped back to #7 in the RPI, and even the committee had Albany slotted 10th. With the Syracuse loss that probably puts them at 2nd or 3rd depending on how the other tournaments play out which puts another trip to the Carrierdome back on the table for the Danes.

A 14th or 15th seed would be an insult, but it is all about logistics and saving money once you get beyond the 8 seeded teams.

Have to win the AQ!

The RPI (from what I can see) has not been updated. Still has Albany at #8 with an 11-2 record. We are 12-2.

UPDATE: They've corrected the W-L and we are in 8 with Hopkins surprisingly at #5. Jeesh.

Today's Daily Gazette game article reports that UA rested Patterson on Saturday night. Marr reported he has a "lower-body injury" and should be back for the tourney.
