  1. Why is there such resistance to Stony Brook or Albany going IA? Certainly their track records thus far do not seem quite as ambitious as a move to IA but there must be some value in it since so many universities have made that move or contemplated doing so. There is no better way to get a universities name out there on a regular basis than athletics. Both SB and Albany plan on playing major roles in the economies of their respective regions. SB located near a population of over two million could certainly host a IA Football program. Not sure of the population surrounding Albany but I could believe the capital region would be supportive of athletics if done right. With the major capital building and fundraising going on at both universities a properly funded IA program would be great.
