Women finished ameast play 11-1 with a 3 to 1 set victory @ brook. They had already clinched the regular season championship, but it was nice to see no let down and of course always nice to beat the brook.

For those who do not follow the team; this is a very young group [mostly freshman and sophomores -- only 2 juniors & 2 seniors.] They did not win an OCC game and only won a couple of sets against a very difficult schedule. They lost their first league game before winning out 11 straight. Might be coach Engstrom's best work and she has had a lot of great seasons.

Next weekend they host the ameast tournament. First game up against basketball {unless UA decides to be creative & move to 4pm slot to give more fans a chance to see both.} Anyhow take a peak in, you might be surprised what a fun and exciting game volleyball is. You will also witness a UA volleyball team that has come together and playing exceeding well!

Good luck ladies. See you Friday, and hopefully Saturday in the championship. Congratulations on a great ameast regular season.

Young team totally unglued and shook. Lost each set by either 4 or 5; gave away twice that many each set with errors and unforced mistakes. brook played with abandonment with nothing to lose as a fourth seed and only made it into the tournament by a tie breaker. UA as the number one seed played afraid to lose and it showed and they did. But a great ameast season and a very young team. If they treat this loss in the right way, as a growing experience, should be an excellent team going forward. CONGRATULATIONS LADIES ON A GREAT EFFORT THIS SEASON!
